I just looked up some reading about the “ holdouts “. Talk about loyal soldiers. Can you even imagine. Your boy on Guam was Shoichi Yokoi held out to January 24 1972. I need to learn how to put links and pics and shite. Where to look ? I’m gonna see if they got a help section.

Hey Pimp The guy on Guam has a book out about his time on Guam after the war. Pretty cool that you were there when he gave up. Did you ever check out the cave or caves where he was hiding?

No I was just a little kid and I lived in a village called Dededo and I just was oblivious as kids are. I remember seeing astronauts at a parade, and Vietnam vets at the airbase and Filipino women - but I was too young to really understand . We had the newspaper clippings in a scrapbook from the local papers . I also had a BADASS pachinko game from Japan hanging on my wall as a kid. I played that thing nonstop.So I was wired for Japanese history and kind of became a bit of a history buff and later moved to Japan after graduation from LSU.
I also have a theory about male development and attraction. I was always most attracted to Asian girls. My eyes just naturally went to the pretty Asian girl over the pretty blonde girl. I think it’s because right at that age - 5/6/7 years old , I was around all these Filipino women. And the I fixated on 1973 Cher who looked pretty damn Asian in that Indian squaw outfit. I always liked the tan girl with the beautiful dark hair. So my theory is our preference is tied to some kind of Attraction at a certain age of development.

My grandad was a torpedo pilot and was hit by a kamikaze. He spent 2 years in prison in Japan. He said there were a few sick frickers that were guards, but he held no ill will towards most of the Japanese until the day he died. He always said they were just kids like he was doing what they were told. He learned Japanese in prison, and he would go out of his way to speak to any Japanese he saw travelling while home or abroad. I learned a lot from that man, and I miss him every day
