Why do the Japanese get a pass for WW2 war crimes?

People want the US to apologize for the nukes. (Lol)
What Japan did was worse than the Nazis. At least Hitler had some method to his madness (only killing “nonpure” groups)
Japs didnt care, they just killed everybody, human experimentation, live autopsies etc. Civilian death count in China alone is estimated to be double the Holocaust.
We let them off the hook in exchange for their research.
Truly sick sick people though and many are still alive today.

No we did not. We hanged a lot of them for war crimes after the war.

One of the American generals (I forgot which) said if they gave up all info of unit 731..... No charges would be brought upon them. I'll try and find the video I saw on it but I'm having issues copying and pasting links with my phone.

Because the politics of reconstruction post war are not grounded in morality/justice

We did for awhile. Then leaders of occupying USA forces and Japanese officials decided to grant amnesty for everyone that hadn't been brought in yet in order to improve overall relations between the two countries.
