The issue is say I’m going 78 and I’m passing everyone in the left lane. There’s always that guy going 80. So you move over and have to slam on the breaks to let him go by. BUT all those assholes you just passed move over and pass you and you’re stuck in the slow lane doing 65 until you can safely get back in line. Then you have to pass all those assholes all over again.

I’ve tried to set my cruise at 82 and just go. I can’t ever go 82 because of a left lane parker. 75 is too slow for the left lane and you have that scenario as aforementioned above. So I figure 78-80 is good. If you need to go faster pass me on the right. Otherwise I’m staying where tf I’m at unless the road is clear of course. I’m not THAT a-hole you’re bitching about. Oh and 18 wheelers that take all damn day to pass each other really pisses me off too.

No. If you are actively passing people, keep passing them, then get over at the soonest reasonable point to do so once you pass the group you are passing.

If moving over would cause you to have to drastically slow down because there are more people in front of you that you'd be passing, you are doing it wrong. You should keep passing, and then move over so the guy behind you can pass you.

People that don't move over after passing drive me crazy. I can see if you don't have people close behind you and there is another car 5-10 seconds ahead you are going to pass also but if it's anything beyond 10 seconds for another pass get over.

I'll typically flash my headlights as I am approaching a slower vehicle riding in the LT lane. If that doesn't work, I'll ride that arse because I can.

It works less than 10% of the time for me. Inside 100 yards, inside 50 yards, 10 yards behind them, makes no difference. The only people this seems to have an effect on is old white dudes probably driving to a VA clinic in San Antonio. After a while, you realize nobody looks in any of their mirrors, ever. They don't know how close the car behind them is, that there is someone in their blind spot (even if they have blind spot sensors, etc.)

But yeah, we're the problem.

From my experience almost everyone driving in the left lane is passing someone, they just aren't doing it fast enough, or getting back over quick enough for the person behind them. Thats why it's a rarely issued ticket, and I don't think I know anyone, or seen anyone pulled over for it.

People with common sense can figure this out.

if you want to improve traffic, stop putting your brakes on to let people enter the damn freeway. keep it moving. it's their fricking job to get on. not yours to move out of the fricking way or brake to let them in.

And the corollary, get up to speed on the access ramp so you don't pull in front of someone doing 70 while you're doing 30.

and i 100% will, so get the frick off my arse while i'm passing people in the lane designated to pass. just because i'm only doing 77 in a 70 doesn't mean get up on me........now i'm cruising till you back off you fricking a-hole.

If you're on I 10 in Louisiana and there's an a-hole doing this, there's a 99% chance that the vehicle has Texas plates!

rule of thumb...if your driving is causing other drivers to have modify their speed or path, you are the problem. if you want to pass at 77, then wait until you have a clear path to do it without affecting anyone else

rule of thumb, i was there well before them doing 90 on the causeway. again, they can frick themselves and wait while i pass and get over. i don't cruise in the left lane, i pass, and i get over. leave earlier and you likely wont need to go 90.

They understand it. The thing is they don’t care. Their time is more important than yours. That is the attitude they take. I know many ppl that think that the left lane is for them you are required to get out their way.

A large portion of our society is incompetent and/or selfish. No where is this manifested more obviously and infuriatingly than on the road.
