Preachers start out as youth ministers. Youth Ministers always wind up with young tail. That young tail becomes a girlfriend when they are legal. That GF later becomes a wife who is 7 or so years younger than the preacher husband.
Older man and younger woman thing. Money, power/authority, Daddy issues, status symbol for a girl who was brought up in the church.

I will say, indont think our pastor back home is corrupt or anything but Ives been to his house a few times and he sure does have an awesome life. Nice house. Hot wife. fricking unreal hot daughter. And he’s also the nicest guy around. He is not handsome but he is very very charming and that’s why he is very popular. Old school smooth Carolina accent.

Simple formula... You as a pastor, run AA meetings as well as Narcotics Anonymous meetings, judge sentences them to go to meetings you meet them there. You scoop them up there, give them so polish, and wham you married a hot recovering meth head head that is a freak in the bedroom

A preacher’s job requires you to be charming and a smooth talker to be successful. Those same skills are used to pick up women, it makes sense that they would be good at talking women into marrying them.

Maybe she isn't shallow and would rather be married to a good man who can't help being short and bald, over a judgemental prick like you. 
Or depending on what church/ how big it is, and whether or not the preacher is fake and sleazy then the preacher could be a millionaire and she's a gold digging whore but being a preachers wife allows her to pretend like she's a good person.... That's probably the more like scenario ....

It’s not always about looks, especially for the women. I’m sure there are many saying money, which security is important, but it’s not always that either.
A preacher is typically a good speaker or just well-liked in general. Perhaps even infectious. They may exhibit several attractive qualities outside of them being fat.
Also, they may have just gotten fat over time. Keep in mind they are married.. and in a relationship like this the woman is often not leaving the guy over his weight gain..

I assumed many idiots would make it about corruption or money.
Hate to break it to y’all but that simply isn’t necessarily the case here.
There are several good looking people in ministry and many may have simply let themselves go later in life.. these people are going to remain faithful for the most part.
Also intelligence and charm are still very much attractive qualities,. Especially with women.
You’re dealing with people of faith in churches. Think about that for a second.

That’s certainly a shame. Not sure the business aspect, but some of the most wonderful, caring, genuine people I’ve ever known came from the ministry. There’s an outreach church in Florida that has nearly 24/7 live prayer support that I’ve greatly taken advantage of through extreme difficult times. I am thankful I was able to call and speak to live people after midnight, sometimes 3-4 am in times of desperation. Never once being asked for any type of money. Often young people going into youth ministry. Most of it starts out there as someone else pointed out. They marry young, they have children, and they stay together. Pretty much my entire dad’s side of my family are either preachers or missionaries. All married in college I believe.
I would be interested in seeing the number of pastors who didn’t marry someone in their early starting out phase. I would imagine they had established relationships before it was about money. There are still genuine good looking people in this world and church should certainly be the place to see it.. so it shouldn’t be some question as to why an attractive person might be with an unattractive person in certain people’s eyes.
It’s weird how people love to judge the intentions of others. Especially those leading others to Christ whose ministry is somewhat dependent upon donations. No one is forcing you to donate lol. There are far worse things out there that money could be going to. Of course it’s fair to judge how elaborate certain preachers may live, but that’s often not the case. Should they not be well off though? Should they not be comfortably supported? It’s still their profession and if they are great at it should they not profit? Even if you are the biggest atheist in the world you can’t deny the values being taught are good for our society. There are numerous studies to back this but I won’t go into as this is already tl/dr. I will end with this though. As with anything, there will always be some bad apples.
Let the preachers have hot wives if they do. There are plenty of fat preachers with fat wives too. Just deal with it.
