re: Does Bay St Louis area have good fishing?

No lift, 55 feet of bulkhead and a dock that is 5 feet by 55 feet. Not sure if you putting a trailer on pilings.

I am by no means a boat expert but we have a 24ft Bluewave Bay Boat. It does everything we need it to do. We fish out of it and pull people around on a tube (have not tried to ski behind it yet). The only problem we have but do not really care, is when we are cruising there aren't many cushioned places to sit. There are many more people on this board that have more experience with different boats but I think a bay boat can do anything you want to do.

We purchased our lot in 2022 near the Hollywood Casino for $50,000 that was on a canal leading to Cameron Island and the Jaurdan River. We spent another $25,000 on bulkhead and dock. We started construction on a 3 bed, 2 bath (1/2 bath downstairs in shop under the camp that was completed after inspections and certificate of occupancy issued) 1700 total square feet and were all in with land, bulkhead and house for approx. $450,000.00.
It is the best investment we have ever made and plan to retire to BSL in 6 years. There are so many things to do like minor league sports teams (hockey, baseball), concerts, restaurants, bars, etc. but our favorite thing to do is spend the morning fishing and then meeting people at the islands or the sand bars. I'm sure I have run into some of the people in this thread at a sand bar or the islands. If you have anymore questions just ask.

The fishing in the Bay can very hit or miss. They have been installing reefs in and around the Bay and the Bridges can hold some fish. Cat Island can be really good if the conditions are right. I have had a camp for a little over a year on a canal near the Hollywood Casino and we enjoy boat riding and hanging out at the island. If I am really looking to catch fish, I put the boat on the trailer and launch in Bayou Caddy and head to the Louisiana Marsh.

Beau Rivage Sportsbook on Saturday
Posted by saintsfan225 on 9/30/25 at 10:29 am
Going to the Mississippi Coast Saturday and was wondering if anyone has any idea how crowded the sportsbook gets on Saturday morning. Going with some friends and we would like to get a seat at the bar, drink some beer and watch football. What time do you all think we would need to get there to get a seat?
re: Pricing for bulkhead and truck loads of fill in Bay St Louis?
Posted by saintsfan225 on 9/1/25 at 9:55 am to Neauxla
I used All Pro Marine to do my bulkhead and dock in BSL. I could not be happier with the work that was done. Mine was 55' at $230.00 a foot for vinyl and dock was $175.00 a foot. It came out great and they used screws on the dock instead of nails.

I have a Blue Wave 2400 Purebay and fish out of Bay St. Louis. Run it all over from the marsh to the islands and it handles well. It also has seating for 6-7 when we are cruising around the bay or heading towards the sand bars to hang out.
How to factor in a pension in retirement calculation
Posted by saintsfan225 on 3/4/25 at 8:39 am
I figured I would ask the experts on Money Talk this question. My wife and I both have pensions through our jobs and our combined income is roughly $140,000. We have $300,000 in an investment account (very conservative) and both have Roth IRA's with a combined value of $325,000. Our combined income with the pensions at retirement should be 85% of our salary with healthcare included. We have no debt (house and cars paid for) and children are grown. We would like to retire in 7 years (both of us will be in our mid fifties). Are we ok our should we be doing something different? Someone at work is claiming we (pension employees) are millionaires based on pension payments spread out over 25 years.

What is the expected cost of something like that?
T-Top for a Bay Boat
Posted by saintsfan225 on 2/18/25 at 7:35 am
I have started the process of looking to buy a used bay boat. I would like one with a T-top but don't want to limit my options. If I find one without one, who do you guys recommend. I could use any shop from Baton Rouge to Mobile. Thank you in advance.

They can literally shoot you and they can't be held liable.
Tell me you have no idea how qualified immunity is or how it is applied to cases like this without saying I have no fricking clue what it is or how it works. A quick google search is your fried instead of copblock or whatever bullshite site you follow. By the way the cop shouldnt be the police

Yes but not every time, just does it if it sits overnight. Once it stops the engine starts.
2018 Ford F150 5.0 grinding noise
Posted by saintsfan225 on 11/9/24 at 9:03 am
When I start my truck after it sits for longer than 8 hours it makes a horrible grinding noise for a second or two then stops and engine fires right up. If it sits for a shorter period it fires up with no problem. I tried searching google and changed oil and filter with no success. Anyone have same problem or a solution.

You can always stay at the Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast in Bay. St. Louis. They have a lazy river but I admit that I have never stayed there but going this weekend. Main Street has many restaurants and bars to visit.
