Our realtor knew we were getting our house ready to put on the market. He personally had a connection with a young couple who the house was perfect for. They came and looked at it pre-listing. They loved it and put an offer in that we accepted.
Ridiculously easy process 100% made possible by our intune, well-connected realtor. Worth every penny.

Don’t get your panties too in a bunch. The realtors’ days are numbered.

So people who screw up in college have a job after they drop out

Same reason we have car leaderships, just to add cost to the transaction

Pre internet and smart phone were their prime. Now that you can pay to list on the mls I don’t know if I’ll ever use another one. We moved last year I had a horrible experience with the one we bought our new house with. When she asked us to sign her contract I had a bad feeling about her from the second I met her. I really wish I would have walked away from her and figured it out. He one was used to sell out house was great but she was a personal friend of ours.

to separate people from their money. Same reason most professions exist.

Same here. Our realtor had potential buyers lining up to see our place. It got 8 showings and 2 offers in the first day. She did most of the hard work before it ever hit the market and I have no reservations about her commission. I just touched up some paint and a few other minor things and she did the rest. Worth it.
The real question should be why do crappy realtors keep getting clients? The good realtors are worth the money, the bad ones make things more difficult.

They actually cut out a good deal of hassle for you dealing with the buyer and all the paperwork.
I’m glad someone out there knows what’s going on with all that and can make it easier on my life to sale my house

Without them, hairdressers would be fewer in number.

Oh, and also, there would not be as many used Infiniti sedans on the road.
