This only seems to be a thing in small towns where no one ever leaves, in my opinion.
Hot southern girls and nothing around them but poor and ugly dudes (because anyone half attractive or well off either gets married early or gets the hell out of their hometown). Flat out lack of options for them. That’s all there is to it.
