I don't mind it. It alerts drivers behind them to be cautious for reduced speed ahead and allows plenty of time to react.

People pulling off to the emergency lane because of rain is a bigger danger in my opinion.

Yep. Alabama it is legal. If i'm every using them, it is because the rain is so bad, that my speed is absurdly reduced to the point it is a hazard. I'll keep them on while i drive to find a safe place to get off the road and wait it out.

Does it actually reduce your viability of the car with them on though?

They become a big flashing blob that encompasses a large area of your already hard to see through windshield.

It’s distracting as frick and you’re an idiot if you do it

Like you really never noticed how bright lights (headlights, breaklights, blinkers) when they flash in the rain at night, the flash is a lot bigger and brighter?

So you are going to continue using them even after multiple people have told you it is much much more dangerous and illegal in most states?

I'm going to continue to use them when I am literally a hazard and it is legal to use them, while I find a spot to pull of the road.

Are you saying I shouldn't use them when i'm being a hazard?

No you shouldn't. It makes you more of a hazard.

So, you're against trucks using them when they are driving very slow up hills then?

Once I pull to the side of the road and put them on, i'm no longer being a hazard? That say 10 mph difference is what makes me a hazard while I search for a safe place to pull off the road?

Is it raining, thus making already shite visibility worse? If so, yes. I’m against it.

How are you not grasping that a big flashing light in the rain makes visability worse? Like yeah. We see YOU. but we can’t see ANYTHING else now and have no idea what YOU are doing. Are YOU turning? Are YOU stopping? Are YOU on the side of the road? We can’t tell.

But, we know you’re there. Somewhere, doing something. Because all we can see is your blinding flashing light

That is a legitimate time to use them IMO.

False. Your headlights and taillights make you visible in low visibility situations. Hazard lights are illegal to use in the state of Louisiana when a vehicle is in motion.

Same. If it is raining so hard that I am well below speed limit, like going 20-30 on the interstate because I can't see 10 feet in front of me otherwise, flashers are on. That is a legitimate time to use them IMO.

Are you under the perception that the Hazards are somehow brighter than regular tail lights?

And I am assuming you don’t change lanes or make any turns with your hazards on, right?

Seeing as your “legitimate” use has made it almost impossible to see.

HOW DOES DECIDING NOT TO DRIVE IN HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS POSSIBLY ADD TO THE DANGER

I am against people using them in the rain where it is more of a hazard. Why is this so hard for you?

I don't know why it's so hard for some people to accept being corrected.

Than my non-breaking taillights? I believe they are.

Generally no, i'm trying to pull off of the road.

So, when i'm stopped on the side of the road, I shouldn't use them either? I mean if using flashers in the rain is a hazard, if I'm on the side of the road, i should have them off too, right?

From the sounds of it, when is it not more of a hazard to use them when it is raining?

It really doesn't though

I don't do it, but I've never been distracted by someone moving over and turning on their flashers while they putt putt along in a blinding rain

That this board treats it as public enemy #1 is funny though, I'm not sure any other contingent of people anywhere cares as much about this issue as the OT
