re: Why do people still visit New Orleans when the city is getting worse?

quote:Yep, the city was booming from 2010-2018. Then New Orleans elected Latoya and it's been all downhill since.
Katrina did it a great favor, and it showed for years. It's been the last 6 or 7 years it's gone downhill.

It’s fine to visit and it’s a blast. You just also may get stabbed. Take the good with the bad.

What I said was 100% facts. Face it: everything you love about New Orleans is because of black people. The cuisine, the music, etc. So when I said that N.O. was a slave market capitol of the US, that’s a fact. And that’s what the history of New Orleans is based on.
I know there are people on here who love NOLA and will defend it. If they love NOLA, then more power to them. I’m not trying to be a dick to those people. But when people act like NOLA is this awesome bustling city where there’s so much to do, I have to interject on that. Because I’ve been there multiple times. There’s only so much you can do aside from getting drunk, eating out, and going to concerts. It’s get boring quickly. The crime is absurd and the streets are super narrow and cramped, not to mention the city is dirty as frick.

Aren’t you the one who has probably posted “but the food is great” 30 or so times in Nola bashing threads.
Tell us what restaurants, musicians, art galleries, bars, music clubs, museums that you really enjoy in Nola.

The bathrooms at Ochsner Main Campus are the picture of perfect, and you should snap the opportunity to use one.

Do you not want to acknowledge that what I said was true?

The OT is a bunch of nay-sayers who mouth-breathe discouraging words.
Spent 4 nights there a couple weeks ago. Stayed at a small hotel on Prytania in the Garden District.
Perfectly fine with no problems.

Katrina was the best thing to ever happen to NOLA, if you dont realize that then I feel sorry for you

The OT is scared shitless of black people

I went last weekend. Stayed within a couple of blocks of where I parked because I knew it was a "safe" area...
Until I got back to my truck. No point in discussing that here, because it involved everything we love about NOLA

Don’t have a clue.
Career kind of steers me to Houston, but screw that. Waiting to see how much more popular remote working gets.
My kids will be done with schooling soon. Once my elderly parents are gone, we aren’t tied to south La

What about the 200,000 italians (mostly sicilian)who immigrated to the city?

Did your truck get broken into?

Since the lockdown, I tried to limit my trips to NOLA because the streets that used to be vacant became hangouts for groups with nothing to do but sit around. Nothing good can become of that situation.
