It’s always one side bitching about the other. In reality, I think it’s mostly retailers who’ve pushed towards the more PC and inclusive Happy Holidays. And maybe public schools, I dunno. ACLU might sue if a teacher let’s slip a merry Christmas.

Because Christmas isn’t “all inclusive”, it’s for Christians - not Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc. I don’t get offended when other religions fail to reach out to me during their holy holidays and wish me “Happy Holidays.” The whole Happy Holidays deal is from the PC liberal side.

There is a lot of money and political mobilization to be earned in manufacturing and stoking culture wars toward the most persecuted demographic in America: the white Anglo-Saxon Protestant.
The sad irony of it is that in trying to claim ownership and force compliance with their preferred norms, using the tools of vitriol and divisiveness to advance it, they sap and erode the core spirit of the holiday season they are claiming to try and save.

I say Merry Christmas to everyone because it just sounds more sincere to me. It’s not intended to be an assumption of their beliefs nor a two word prosyletization; it’s simply a friendly thing to say at Christmastime. If someone said, “Happy Hanukkah/Holidays/Kwanzaa” back to me, I wouldn’t be offended at all.
They don’t get to tell me what to say. Anyone who is truly offended by being told “Merry Christmas” can go straight to hell for being an intolerant p***y.

No. Not in the least. But I can recognize that Christmas is the holiday being celebrated by most people. And i’m Well aware that Yule was coopted by the Christians as a way to bring the pagans of Europe into the fold, so now we celebrate many of the old Yule traditions as part of Christmas.
So merry Christmas. Let the Yuletide carols ring.
