I said Merry Christmas to my practicing-muslim coworker. Didn't even get a shoe thrown at me, he said Merry Christmas right back.

The people actually offended over any of this MC or HH stuff is so ridiculously small, that it is hilariously pathetic how this has become the faux big deal it "is".

I don't think the Happy Holidays phrase is offensive to anyone...in fact, that's the phrase that big companies have evolved to instead of Merry Christmas. It's all about the mighty dollar and not wanting to offend the vocal minority.

Love how these posters are asking for respect of Christ and Christmas but in the same sentence dropping F bombs.

BTW

@realDonaldTrump: Wishing everyone a very Happy Holiday season!

When a red blooded American male tells me Happy Holidays, I immediately associate it with weakness.

Holidays is the season. Jesus is the reason for the season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Have a Happy Holiday.

Because people are always offended.

I’m not the friendliest by nature. So a person will have to say something First. I just return whatever they say. “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays”. I’m just gonna shoot the same back at you.

I’m also not the person who goes out of their way to say “MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!” When I am told happy holidays.

Christmas. Hannukah. Kwanza. New Years. All holidays that occur at this time of year. So why are the “holidays” automatically about Christmas?

You left out Saturnalia, Yule and a bunch of other mid-winter holidays, you insensitive bastard.

By the way, in case you didn't know it, your entire religion was based off of previous religions. Literally everything about it. Christianity, Islam and Judaism are all very unoriginal.

False premise based on my experience. I don't know anyone, Christian or non-Christian who gets offended by stupid stuff like that.

Happy Holidays is just a shorter version of “have a Merry Christmas and happy New Year”

The Jewish perception of god that developed in the Babylonian captivity is unlike anything the world had ever seen. It grew from unoriginal Bronze Age local religions but it was absolutely an intellectual and philosophical oddity. To call it unoriginal is to fundamentally misunderstand it.

Believe it or not. I personally don’t. But it’s originality is simply undeniable on its face if we are being intellectually honest.

I do if I don’t know the person. For me it’s always been a way to include “Happy New Year” with “Merry Christmas”. Or if I know the person doesn’t celebrate Christmas. For me that’s a lot less atheists and more for a lot of Jewish folks I know.

I am an atheist and my wife is Jewish - we have Christmas tree in the den and on the front porch and wish everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Some people are not happy unless they can cram their religion down your throat. No one’s religion is better than another. Respect all religions..

I know a few who do the same (Merry Christmas BTW) but some do not.

I just don’t think it’s hard to be respectful of other people. They put up with our Christmas shite splashed everywhere from Halloween to January, so I figure a little kindness goes a long way.

I guess I just don’t get the outrage over it. Or this whole “War on Christmas”. Like I said, every year I see Christmas stuff everywhere from Halloween to now. I’ve seen Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings on a variety of things all of my life. It isn’t something new.
