In a time where the term is thrown around so loosely, why would anyone even care? The term is so overused these days, its significance has diminished.

For you old people, it is like The little boy who cried wolf

Meaningless

I only care if it's on a public platform like Facebook where others could see.

If some stupid SJW called me that over a conversation I would laugh in her face.

They don't. It has been so watered down over the last 8 years to the point it has no meaning.

Not really. True racists are still a stain on society, and it's gotten worse with that accusation being thrown around like you said because they can hide behind the noise.

ETA Just like with false rape accusations. Hurts the credibility of women (or men) who actually have gone through it.

I just treat everyone I meet with respect and dignity until they as an individual prove they no longer deserve it. Then I just move on with my life and from them. So if anyone were to call me such a thing I feel confident that I actually am not an anyone who knows me would be able to refute it or see that that would be a ridiculous claim.

I think now, people use it when they are losing an argument. They attempt to use it as a Trump card (pun intended).

I'm a white, southern, conservative who lives in SoCal. A racist is one of the nicest things said about me.

I love how many in society and the media act like being “racist” is the worst crime you can commit.

They laud rapists and child molesters and degenerates but if someone expresses a personal prejudice...they will actively try and destroy them.

And completely ignore blatant racism from their own side and those that line up with their momentary agenda.

I mean, Everyone’s a little bit racist . And honestly, being a little “racist”, with reason, is probably a smart thing.
Meaning that you’ve taken account of past interactions with certain groups and apply what you’ve learned from those interactions to make future decisions.

I mean, if you are some cracker and turn down a street named after an Indian or a president, and see a bunch of pant saggin fellas...maybe turn around.

And if you are a brother and find yourself in backwoods Livingston and turn into a trailer park that looks like a David Allen Coe concert... maybe it’s in your interest to keep moving.

I got called racist recently for merely pointing out that affirmative action is often counterproductive because it puts unqualified people into positions where they many times perform disproportionately inadequately.

This actually CREATES a bias against that particular racial group, even from people of the same race, because they assume those people got the job on easier requirements. It also is unfair for members of the same race who got the position on merit because they suffer unnecessary scrutiny, when in fact they are qualified and talented.

In 2018, being called a racist just means that the other person has no logical argument to refute your point and just wants you to shut up.

So don’t shut up.

I was just called a racist about 20 minutes ago because I told someone their house was dirty. And it was absolutely filthy, all of my employees felt the need to take showers after being in their house and handling their stuff. My temp workers(4 of them) even all mentioned to me, "how could someone live like this"

If the label sticks it could be a career ruiner. Obviously this would be worse with certain careers but it’s not a good look as a professional in any field.

It has been used so much by people that don't know the definition that it has become a meaningless term. Usually when I hear or read the word it is coming from someone stifling the first amendment or any criticism of a leftist.
