i care more about my pets than some humans.
if i dont know you i dont care about you. i know my dog, i love my dog, he provides fun and protection for me.
he has a purpose in my life, some rando doesnt.

Kids who were taking care of our pets when we were out of town for a week locked our cat in our bedroom for around 5 days (possibly longer). She only had access to toilet water. She was fricking pissed when we got home

Because I've never had daily murderous thoughts against any dog. Not so much the case for many humans. I think this explains a bit.
