I think people have a lot of memories surrounding his music. I don’t think he’s fascinating, though.

It’s weird how people can defend a monster like that. There must be something in the moon walk that makes y’all forget the allegations against him.
Ok. Now do Trump.

its fun to troll michael jackson fans by claiming he stole everything he did from elvis.
And James Brown.

Even if he didn’t actually molest those kids, he straight up admitted to letting them sleep in bed with him. On camera.
Any reasonable person has to admit that’s weird as frick, and just not okay, at the very least.

quote:Exactly. I’m not sure how anyone in this thread can defend that because he’s a “goat pop star with moves” that make them want to shout HEA-HE while grabbing their crotch.

It’s actually a cult and all logical thinking among his fans is nonexistent.

wacko was a freak(not in a good way,) a weirdo, pedo, creeper, and a pervert, other than that he seemed like a straight up righteous dude

His Moon walk?
I saw kids doing that shite years before MJ ever did it…

Michael was innocent. It was the Jews

MJ fanboys/girls are worse than the ones that go to the wall for athletes.

Prince >>> MJ
It's not really close either. Prince was a much better songwriter and musician than MJ. His music has stood the test of time a lot better too. Purple Rain is better than anything MJ ever made.
GTFO. Prince was a better musician. Period. There is no other measure or metric where Prince is better. #1 hits, Top 10 hits, records sold, albums sold, Grammy awards or nominations. Michael Jackson is widely considered the greatest entertainer of all time.

More impressive than the moon walk was the lean. He introduces it on film near the end of the Smooth Criminal video. Kids all over the world busting their faces trying to do it.
There were little pins in the floor and sockets in the heels of the dancing shoes to hold himself up when it did it. A parlor trick to be sure, but it still takes a great deal of practice and incredible muscle strength and conditioning on some obscure muscles.
MJ great singer and dancer, but his production staff and Quincy Jones are really the behind the scenes stars on all of MJ's really great stuff.
Back when Pop and RnB music was still done with live musicians, world class live musicians, on the recordings. When pop music still had soul.

It’s like with OJ. He’s a murdering pos but he was a hell of an athlete.
Both things can be true. And admitting they were good at something isn’t defending them. Only someone looking for an argument would think that.

To piggy back on this-
Today the #1 pop song on spotify is the Swift song from the new Toy Story movie. It's an objectively good song, it's good. It's a really good song.
Will people remember this song in 10 years? 20? 30? 40? 50?
The #1 hits that MJ came out with, from being a little boy in the J5 up through the 80's- those hits are still popular today.
People talk about Swift as if she is her own microeconomy, and in many ways she is.
But its not even close to how big, globally, MJ was, culturally.
Old man lessons to the young people who don't know. And to the old people who should know better.
MJ should be appreciated.
Also, didn't Elvis marry his 14 yearr old cousin?

I used to think he was innocent and the families were lying, looking for a payday. Then I recently watched the Netflix documentary and learned of the black briefcase and porn found in his bedroom....he was guilty.
