Prince>>>>>MJ

Overall? Sure, but Dirty Diana is better than any song Prince put out. I think it's also an easy argument that MJ's highs are better than Prince's.

His music was also very bad.

He admitted it himself.

Last week the WSJ published an article by a journalist that did extensive research and interviews about MJ in the past. It is well known that he was a pedo according to her article and the Jackson family paid off numerous victims and victim families.

So I guess MJ was presidential material then.

His music was good.

He was a weirdo. Whether he really committed any crimes is a little unclear, but at minimum he didn’t understand boundaries between adults and children.

Just like people admired Elvis.

Dude was a pioneer in pop music and really good at performing.

No way I would defend his pedophilia, but his music was pretty damn good and he was an excellent entertainer!

Michael's music and performing ability is unmatched from an individual performers perspective or a groups. As a kid he was noticeably more gifted than even the most gifted.

I do not believe he was a pedophile. I believe he was a victim of pedophilia and that drove his profound love of children and his naivety in wanting to protect them all. Mcauley Culkin was around him as a child and was his friend until his death. He adamantly refutes any pedophilia talk. Believe he was also a victim.

Michael had the entire weight of the music industry conglomerate as a rival. When he started buying up publishing rights he became a target and when the time was right they took his arse out. Those catalogs in today's market are invaluable. Lucien Grange and the Universal Music Group could probably answer some questions about that.

I never really cared for his music, but regret not going to his concert at the Centroplex on his "Thriller" tour.

I really believe this.. I think when he bought the rights to the Beatles music there were some behind the scene hollywood people who thought he was acquiring too much power especially in the music industry and if someone is accused of being a kiddie toucher that will do a lot of damage..

But I think it was the way he made music. Every part of the song had to be just right. If there were horns in the song, he brought someone in who played the horn to record that part of it. He built songs. And then of course his dancing.. And he put on a hell of a show. I saw the Michael Jackson show.. One.. In Vegas and it was seriously impressive, but different people like or don't like different types of music so if he isn't what you like then that's cool.

I always preferred Prince over Michael Jackson. I listened to 1999 more than Thriller.
Both were great performers and also freaks, but at least Prince was straightforward about being a freak, and he also was a way more talented musician.

I'll add to this;

Both were sexually obsessed, but Prince fixated on hot women (Vanity, Carmen Electra, etc). He may have been bi or pansexual, but he was clearly attracted to adult women.
Michael Jackson clearly seemed to focus on children. Even the adult women he occasionally appeared with, were child celebs. Brooke Shields etc. Very creepy and weird.

Both could hit falsetto notes, but Prince spoke like a man, and also sang like one a lot. Jackson never dropped the 8 yr old prepubescent voice, I don't know if he had hormone therapy or was just a fricking weirdo. People claimed his skin lightening was a "medical condition" but I don't buy that, it was bleaching. His nose was clearly surgically altered. He was turning into Liz Taylor, or maybe Mary Poppins.

I'd say Prince was a supreme horndog and musician, but ultimately pretty secure in who and what he was. Jackson was a weirdo, and beyond the money and fame, I don't think there was much likeable about him.
