Yeah, we did our trip in April. The water was little cooler but didn’t bother me any. My friend in Hudson is a snow bird and goes back up to Indiana in May so that was the main reason, but I really enjoyed the smaller crowds as well.

Just because your family sucks doesn’t mean all of ours do.
ETA No one here is forcing you or trying to convince you go to go the beach.

You’re doing it wrong… and I’m no big beach guy.
4 nights max. That gives you 3 full days at the beach. One day spend a couple hours, then go golf, fish, go karts, shop, whatever…
Rent the chairs- spend 100-150 bucks, it’s
Worth it. All you need is cooler. Maybe a bag of toys if you got little ones. 8+ y/o can pack their own boogey boards, etc.
Make sure you rent a condo with a bar/grill. Keeps wife
Happy with fruity drinks, can grab kids lunch etc at the grill.
No lacking sandwiches and BS.
If you can’t spring an extra $300 for the chairs and grill, don’t go.

The point is, every kid I know loves to go to the beach. And even though you as a parent have to make a sacrifice and it causes you hardships, it’s for your kids. Life isn’t always about you.

Lay under and umbrella and try not to be a tard by keeping sand out of your shorts

Live by the beach, don't have to do any of that shite.

If you don’t like the beach, there is a good chance most people don’t like you

I live about a 10 minute walk from a beach, and about a 20 minute drive from my place to Padre Island. I go to the beach maybe twice a year.
Give me a mountain lake all day.

Sorry you hate it, but the white sand between my toes, the snorkling, and swimming is my jam. Phuket beaches, Turks, and Curicao.

I like the ocean. If sand wasnt by the ocean I'd never went.

With the cost of 30a now it’s much better to just do Caribbean all inclusive.
Some Caribbean inclusives are grounded Carnival Cruise liners.
For me, a nice Caribbean property that doesn’t have an inclusive option or a 30A week are mutually acceptable.

Nothing says fun like paying for an overpriced condo, having to sweat your balls off hauling a wagon full of junk down to the beach, only to sit there for about 2-3 hours before everyone has enough sand time and goes sit by the pool. Then you have to break all the shite down, and clean the sand off after.
Went the last two summers, will be doing lake houses from here on out. At least until both our kids are 8+
i love the beach and love the beach with my kids. maybe you are doing it wrong. Whats not great about the gulf, the waves, throwing a football on the beach, playing some blitz ball on the beach, tossing the baseball with your kids, boogie boarding with the kids, watching them play in the water throwing a ball around in it, relaxing to the sound of the waves under the umbrella, going to dinner, napping mid day? Jumping on the gulf cart and going to get something at the big chill or in seaside at the food trucks for lunch or biking down to rosemary and doing some shopping mid day while stopping for ice cream? then go out to dinner at Amborisa or Galions or old florida fish house?
i mean sitting on the beach chilling for a couple hours in the morning, going to drive around and grab a bite at each, heading back to the beach for a couple hours and then to dinner sounds pretty damn relaxing to me and pretty awesome.
i do love all the people on TD that think because they went to orange beach or destin its the same beaches as 30A and that 30A is 3-4 rows deep of people with tents
