I have a thyroid problem and I retain a lot of water weight. I also have cold weather induced asthma so I can’t work out during the winter. So my BMI is slightly elevated

I'll eat Popeye's 3 or 4 times a year. Mainly because the clean up of home cooked fried chicken is a bitch.

Literally will not eat a chain burger as those places don't want my kind as customers, if they did they would advertise towards my demographic.

Pizza is overpriced so I get the WalMart take and bake or I just make it from scratch at home.

TexMex is also overpriced so I cook that at home too.

Fast Food is easy to make, every idiot with 2 brain cells to rub together can do it. Explains why so many brain dead idiots are employed as the pinnacle of their career at the counters of fast food joints.

Oh, please pull forward while you wait, sir.

They prove it every fricking BMI thread too

Go by the waist-height chart instead.

I am 5'7" 183 but my waist is a 33.

I know a guy who is taller than me and weighs less but their waist is a 36.

BMI is the best general measure we have, but for some people it actually is dogshit, whether you believe it or not. Especially for people who played football in high school and spent a large portion of their time eating and lifting weights. Which I would imagine is a very large segment of this board.

Yea but that’s a great example of how eating at home without making good choices on what you buy in the store can be equally as bad as eating fast food every day...and lead to you weighing 375 lbs without eating fast food.

I sit through 35 minute lines at Popeyes just to get my son food, but I don’t order anything. I eat dinner with my wife. Went to a friends house after waiting in line one night and he thought I’d eaten because of it...nope, just waited...he thought I was nuts.

Popeyes is way better service wise outside the south but you should try the mobile app.

I don't even wait 5 min.

FTR....I eat fast food about once a week.

I don’t eat fast food burgers often, but I hit up fried chicken joints probably once every week or two. I do love me some Popeyes fries, Church’s tenders, and chik-fil-a sandwiches. Golden Chick in BR is legit as well.

If I’m at a burger king, sonic, or McDonald’s I’m probably either traveling and can’t find something better or grabbing breakfast to treat myself on a day off.

With that said, I will tear up some Freddy’s on occasion.

Consider me built like a brick shithouse then?

Idk what you want me to say. 5'7" 183 with a 33" waist is squarely in the healthy category of that chart. I can run a close to a 6 min mile. Not great, but better than average. I wear normal clothes. I look like a normal guy. I haven't lifted in a while, but the last time I did my lifts were definitely respectable.

But really me saying all of this is for naught because it's the internet and why would you believe a stranger?

I'm somewhere in between 6'2 and 6'3 and about 228. Solidly in the overweight/dad bod BMI category. I wear a 35/34. My fat pants are 36/34.

Scruffy eats fast food on occasion.

Usually only a Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich or Raisin’ Cane’s 3 finger box.

Sometimes, after a night shift, he’ll get a McGriddle because frick it and it’s bedtime.

Fast food isn’t good for you, but getting it a few times a month won’t kill you.

Moderation.

Don't worry. I realize we're both just strangers on the internet so no need to take it personally. You might be in great shape. I might be morbidly obese.

I'm just saying that, in general, a 33 inch waist on a 5' 7" guy is bordering on chunky.
