It's the first day of school for a pair of twins who had just moved to a small rural Louisiana town. Kids walk into their new classroom and the teacher announces to the class they have some new friends to meet.
"Class, we have 2 new students today. Give them a nice greeting and welcome them please! Boys, step up and introduce yourselves."
"Hi, I'm Farty Johnson and we just moved here."
"Young man, we don't use that kind of language here. Now tell us what your name is."
"I'm Farty Johnson. There."
"Son, one more chance or you'll be asked to leave. We can't have this."
"Ma'am, my name is Farty freaking Johnson. What's the problem here?"
"Out. To the principal and don't come back until you can clean up your mouth."
"Well, come on, Shitty, she ain't gonna believe you neither."

IF you do any research on dog training, it will tell you that dogs respond best to names with 2 syllables and end with a hard vowel.

I mean, a lot of human names do too. Brittany, Bethany, Melanie, Lindsey, Kristi, Katie, Leslie, Ashley, etc.

Ending things with the -y sound is something that children do. A lot of people think of pets, at least to some extent, like they do children.

Hmmm, both of our dogs end in "ey" so maybe you're on to something.

For working dogs - its very good to have a dog ending with a name easily distinguished from commands....
and not the ones ending in OH errrr eaux.. that rhyme with NO....
every female bird dawg I have had has had a name end in Y sound....
