Because men are usually sick and not just dealing with a symptom or two. I know this: I can battle through just about all other symptoms as long as I can stay out of the bathroom to vomit or shite...but a fever at or over 100 degrees is the absolute worst. I'd rather deal with a nonstop cough, runny nose, sore throat, etc, than I had a fever.

As a chronically ill person I try to avoid being needy and more stick to the facts while being very nice to those around me. People from all walks of life both avoid me and try to assist if they cannot avoid because I still believe the vast majority are basically good, although the a-hole portion is currently growing (I've lived long enough to see the pendulum swing both directions).

Men don't have time to be sick. Grow a pair.

Being sick is the one time anyone pays attention to me and does anything nice for me so I ham it up

When my wife is sick she wants me doting on her even when she's asleep.
