Our old 1972 Booger Green/pine leaf green with peanut butter soft top Ford LTD had cigarette lighters and ash trays in all of the doors. I've melted toys and burned the piss out of myself a many of times in that back seat. I believe the one we bought in 88' had the same.

This I never understood. Even if you're a trashy smoker why would you want to keep your ashes inside the car?

Ash tray only in the rear of the vehicle.

I'm guessing you didn't read all the posts. If you have a built in power inverter than there's no need for the 12v plug or special things that work on 12v power.

Everything is NOT USB now... Same reason they put cassette players in cars until 2011. Not "everyone" had switched to CD's by then. Hundreds, probably thousands of devices are produced that use the format and will still be a while before they change.

....and...there are over one billion people who smoke cigarettes,

There's no guessing that you're an imbecile when it comes to electronics. Any idea of what is involved in converting DC into AC power? Much more effient and cheaper to use dedicated 12V accessories than install inverters to allow direct connection of consumer products that tend to run less efficiently and hotter on inverters. That's why vehicles that do have a 120V plug carry very low wattage ratings, suitable only for devices that generally use their own power supplies to condition the AC power of the inverter.

I remember when cars actually had cigarette lighters in the lighter plug. And ashtrays.

Push in the lighter, once it pops,
drop in your roaches, and take nose hits.

I can speak from experience do not plug one of these into your built in 120v power inverter on your car.

The last vehicle I saw one in was like an '05 or older. Newer ones have 12v outlets but not the lighter part.

ETA: You're not talking about the pop out lighter. The USB port in my car doesnt charge as fast as my old school outlet

I used mine to power my tire inflator. I just discovered it quit working and had to purchase an AC adapter so I can refill my tires without having to hand pump or go to a gas station.

It sucks because I can’t refill my tires unless I’m near an outlet. Also, my car doesn’t have USB ports so I can’t charge my phone in my car either.

You think I paid all that money for the discman cassette adapter to not use it? Get real.
