I remember as a kid they had this blue spray hair dye that would wash off and not stay there for months. My mom let me get some and dye my hair on the last day of school.

By why are adults doing it now? Everywhere you look is someone with pink or blue or purple hair. Not only does it look ridiculous it seems to be only a certain, very specific segment of society that do it: liberal women, primarily white, who have a bit of an activist tinge in them.

It’s become a virtue signal of “alliance” with the fringe in opposing the normal.

It's for people who feel like they have to advertise that they are unique, even though the rest of us understand that we are all unique individuals regardless of hair color.

It's an insecurity thing, done by people that over-value how people perceive them... the "Look At Me" syndrome.

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Crazy hair colors is just another way of turning away from God.

It’s an aesthetic that makes me unique in this boring, monotonous world. You probably wouldn’t understand.

This is a recent pic of my new style. Upkeep is a bit of a pain, but I get lots of compliments and awards on Reddit.

I love it. It’s like visible tattoos or facial piercings. It immediately identifies that person as someone who is mentally unstable and I want to have nothing to do with. Pink haired lady running register at the grocery store? Self checkout or wait in another line. Waitress with facial piercings? I’m getting mine to go.

It’s a public service really and I encourage it.

So we can talk about why white folk dye their hair weird colors, but not about why certain people don't tip. TD is going downhill.

I don't think colored is the PC term anymore

I think it is African American hair now

It’s an insecurity thing. Same as tattoos.

I remember red streaks becoming a thing in the late 90’s and early 00’s. Mainly with hair stylists.

Later I realized it was probably more like a prison teardrop, wherein they’d get a red streak for every abortion they had.

Don’t date hair stylists, or anyone else with crazy colored hair for that matter.

I'm on a drilling rig in the middle of the GoM. We have a young female with bright orange short hair. Easy to discriminate, but she's cool as hell and out works some of the other guys. We also have a crane operator with gauges the size of clay pigeons and the same color. Also cool and a good operator. I'm from the old school and even though they are nice contributing people, it's still very weird to me!

He cares more about the steady increase in XXL temples than the ones with temporary new roofs.

Because it’s a free country I suppose. On a related note, why do you care what anyone does with their hair?

this

We had a date with a couple at a restaurant a month or so ago. Waitress had several face piercings - one was something that hung from her nose septum =
looked like a big snot blob about to drip.

If we had been alone, I;d have got up and walked out.

this is a public health hazard.
