There’s several empty hospital buildings in Greater New Orleans - not even counting the old Big Charity.

I was thinking more of a bunch of refitted portable buildings or FEMA trailers to house patients. If they are doing that already then pardon my ignorance.

Suspended now so why did we need them before. The list goes on and on.
Point being, the bureaucracy, red tape, and stupid regulations are completely arbitrary and are easily suspended when shite hits the fan. If they want to put up temporary hospitals, it could start tomorrow with no red tape.

Some hospitals are doing this. Built air conditioned tents outside ER for triage.

Mawmaw was a little girl during the Spanish Flu of 1918. She said once a day a truck would drive through the neighborhood and anyone that was sick got placed on the truck and taken to a gym setup with beds as a medical ward.
If you recovered they put you back on a truck and sent back home.

John bel Edwards is pushing this. There are a discussions to quickly reopen shuttered medical facilities around the state. The biggest would be the old VA hospital in New Orleans. He directly asked Trump for the funds to be released on that conference call today.
