We could, if we wanted to distract the world from a severe shortage of doctors and nurses partly due to a ridiculous obsession with meaningless construction projects.

To be clear, that hospital didn't do shite for Wuhan because there wasn't a ready medical staff - or the proper equipment.

US is utilizing large Navy medical vessels to take some of the patients out of the local hospitals in New York and California. Frees up beds for Corona patients in the land based hospitals. Guess a different and more expedient way to handle the issue.

Point being, the bureaucracy, red tape, and stupid regulations are completely arbitrary and are easily suspended when shite hits the fan. If they want to put up temporary hospitals, it could start tomorrow with no red tape.

Couldn’t have said it any better.

In NYC, they've been converting city buildings into makeshift hospitals for over a week by now.

Yeah, there's talk of using NYU (and other schools) dorms for makeshift hospital.

It seems like they wouldn't be able to run an ICU in most dorms though because of electrical limitations. Maybe use if for non-critical patients.

I guarantee you that the 4 Mexican guys that are doing my roof right now could have one up in a week. Blows me away how hard they work.
