but I don’t know if it is against the law to lie to a police officer.
You can be charged just for giving them a fake name when they ask who you are.

That’s why it’s a good reason to NEVER talk to the police. Even if it is just casually. If they ask you a question, any question they are potentially trying to tie you to a crime.

What is the thinking behind allowing police to lie?

The best lie cops made up is: “If someone asks you if you are a cop, then you have to tell them.” Freaking people still believe that BS.

Because it works so well for politicians.

was just wondering why it is OK for cops to mislead us while we are charged with perjury if we lie, even if it's accidental, to the police.
I don't think this is true or every person that was ever asked "have you been drinking tonight" would've been charged with perjury

So, you asked the hooker if she was a cop and she said no?

Cops can lie to you, but you can't lie to cops (either on purpose or by accident).

We are seeing across the country crime increase in areas that loosen laws to allow criminals to be criminals
You think the laws changed everywhere?
Lol

Son, we have your DNA at the scene, and your buddy down the hall is spilling his guts and saying you were the triggerman. You may as well go ahead and confess so you have a chance to avoid the death penalty.

I have a squeaky clean record but I get paranoid when cops are in my circle. I don’t trust anyone with a badge and I am not a criminal. Never been drunk or smoked weed. I don’t use drugs. I just get suspicious around law enforcement. I don’t know why.

This is why I actually support a few first amendment auditors. A lot of them are idiots but most people don’t understand the rights we do have and those with authority abuse them.

Don’t speak to the police. Problem solved.
If arrested, tell them your name. That’s all you should ever say.

Can't lie if you don't say anything

Ok? That doesn’t mean they aren’t the enforcement arm of the state with a license to commit violence.
Derek Chauvin vs BLM. Who actually had bail funds paid for by our leaders.

Because you have the right not to talk to them.
