As a high school math (algebra 2 and pre-calc) teacher, I wish we could get cameras in the classroom so parents can see just how little their precious kid does in class each day. How could parents, teachers, administration, or school board members justify not putting cameras in a classroom?

As if teachers jobs aren’t hard enough now they’ll have to deal with parents monitoring their every minute? Frick that

I guess it would only be legal in states that allow recording if one party says it ok.

I am all for it, same with all police officers having a bodycam. It protects the students and the teachers.

The film can't be public, just stored on a server until/if it is needed.

Wife’s (no pics) a teacher in Franklin TN and has a camera in her room. Hates it. Privacy laws prevent anyone but admin to watch.

Because they would catch all you teachers bullying and belittling the children and there wouldn't be any teachers left to "educate" our children.

It ain’t cheap to put a camera in every room of a school and then have a server capable of handling all the video data for storage.

I teach algebra 2 and algebra 1. Wouldn’t mind this tbh. As long as parents didn’t have access to watch it 24-7. As soon as I started getting emails about the way I teach little J’mika and Taytay from some welfare lord is when I would be out.

Agreed 100%. We have a kid right now that is 17 and only has 8 credits (you need like 24 to graduate) and is failing her government class for the third time. Mom comes in and says the teacher isn’t helping her daughter to pass and demands that her daughter graduates on time next year. I can only imagine the shite show if these parents could see every move you make in class and pick it apart.

Because we love watching grainy, shaky videos of classroom flights filmed in portrait mode.

I can think of a few things the education system could use the money for other than cameras in every classroom of every school.

She has to “walk on that stage” for graduation. No matter if she can’t pass anything.
