Stein Mart was the perfect median to these. RIP

When I was a kid, My grandmother used to gamble to the point they would give her casino money. Basically $500 bills that were only good at the casino shop and for which there was no change.

So she’s buy 3 of those at a time or a TV.

I had one and it was comfortable as hell, but I was 20 and washed with all my other clothes so after a few years it just sorta died on me.

I wouldn't pay 150, but it is a comfortable shirt.

I don’t have any of their Hawaiian shirts, but do have a few tshirts, socks, short-sleeve button down. All very comfortable and durable.

If you go to their store and feel the fabric you'll better understand the price.

This.

Also, the OP chose to feature some of their uglier/louder shirts. Tommy bahama makes solid color shirts (some have a pattern) that are much nicer.

I wear some TB stuff...not the funky print stuff, but I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price for any of it. They run specials twice a year and their seasonal stuff goes on sale pretty quick.

I stick to the more conservative stuff that doesn’t go out of style so quick...so that along with their quality keeps in the closet for several years.

It is to the white supremacists as LA Raiders gear of the eighties and nineties was to west coast rap. That’s why.

Simple answer: Because they can get enough people to pay $150 for them. If there were no market for the shirts at $150 they wouldn't be sold for $150. Same as any other clothing.

I have a pair of Tommy Bahama pants I wear often. I didn't really want to pay as much as I did for them and couldn't care less about the "name" (there is no logo on the pants), but I couldn't find a cheaper pair in that exact style and color. Scarcity drove me to pay more. From a quality standpoint they are fine...but certainly not that much higher quality to justify a 50% to 75% higher price

People are stupid. Probably buy them with their stimulus.
