re: The typical U.S. worker has $955 saved for retirement, report finds
Posted by RT1980 on 2/7/26 at 2:51 pm to Oilfieldbiology
No reason to lie, no one here knows me. But seeing my parents grow up and struggle to pay the basic bills while making 6 figures ingrained in me the discipline to progress to a higher paying job and save as much as possible while having little to no debt. Didn't want to be stuck like they were
I have $675k in retirement and hold about $70k in Money Market funds as checking/savings at 34.
People blow their wad too early in life and since they know they'll never retire they just stay on the hamster wheel of buying shite they don't need

Was group 2, got 2 tickets for Thursday but doubt I go. Willing to transfer them for face value once they're available to do so if anybody wants them.
Curious on the number of delays and cancellations out of ATL the next couple of days
Ring camera in Mid City BR showing rain and just some light wind and gusts, porch swing not going too crazy yet. Reporting from DC
Where did you read this? Have a flight at 10 am and still showing on time as of now

Will flights out of BTR tomorrow morning be affected? I have a 6a flight for a bachelor party. Trying to decide if I should drive.
Flying out in the AM a well. According to most likely time of wind gusts per NWS as of now, should be fine but time will tell

re: What's your strategy for running on little sleep

Creatine monohydrate...seriously a 5-10g scoop helps stave off some of the effects of poor sleep. LINK

If it does it does. What's your goal/end game? If it's for the long term then I welcome a dip or correction. If you're trading then it sucks or need to pull out money. I don't touch anything till retirement so a few points drawdown works for me

My post from Joe Biden's Instagram earlier today has 6 down votes, it's pretty accurate so the logic remains

And just 5 hours ago Joe Biden called a Trump a loser

I'm at the point where I can't RE but starting to make larger decisions than I previously was able to. Looking to uproot from my hometown as a SINK at 32 and make a life change. Taking careful considerations but even being on this path has at least given me the opportunity to consider it.
I do travel a decent amount, at least comparatively to people in know, but need to work on not hoarding as much and do more things I want to

I just hit COAST at 32 but if I give it another 3-5 years I'll be more than set. Pretty nice feeling though

When they closed the beaches in Alabama and shut down the restaurants. I sat on my balcony overlooking the Gulf and told my best friend this will go down in history as the worst and dumbest era in our Country. We are still and will feel the effects for decades. So very sad.
Crazy thing is in a decade or so it'll likely be erased from history and will be considered nothing but a big conspiracy when it's brought up
