Lots of Catholic schools.

John Parker fricked up the inner city public schools in the late 80s.

There are some good schools in the burbs like most places though.

In all fairness, public schools in Louisiana are truly awful.

Hate to say it but the poor public schools have allot to do with demographics like it or not.

I paid private school tuition for my kids when we lived in south LA.

The question you should be asking is why are there so few coed catholic schools?

Let's see who has the minerals to step up and answer that one.

Tell us all about all of these non-coed catholic schools. In BR there are two highschools but the other hundred have both. But please mineral up.

Louisiana had a parochial, Catholic, school system long before there were public schools, so that may be part of the reason. The other part is the public schools in most parishes really suck. EBR went from some of the best public schools in the country to some of the worst with just the stroke of a (judicial) pen, so that's that.
