I'm not the one who graduated from SLU

Fair enough. I've been an LSU fan my entire life. I had the choice to go to both. At the end of the day, SLU offered me more money in scholarships, stipends and a free dorm to go there and I graduated without any debt.

If I could go back and do it again, I'd probably go to LSU, but I was poor and it made the most sense for me at the time.

Yet JBE wants to copy policies of California.

no, she saved his business from going under, when her dad died there was a pretty bad recession in LA, all of he family that had anything to do with the business cut and ran, she did everything she could to make payroll to keep key employees through the recession, including cash advances, weekly meetings with the bank to extend/increase loans, she fought and clawed to keep it intact, made it through the recession, as times began to improve she bought everyone that held stock in the company out, her and her husband own the company outright and are reaping the rewards of her perseverance and business know how, they have no kids, hell they are the kids, and enjoy the hell out of their lives

I think people are also afraid of starting over. Most people in LA were born and raised in a close knit environment and weren't forced to relocate or move. The "Where did you go to school?" Mentality is strong.

You're basing this simply off of what, immigrants? Because Texas is nothing like Cali as a whole.

I think he meant to say Austin, because the Governor literally just signed law banning Sanctuary Cities.

Just more evidence to show that TOPS is a broken system in La.

Taxpayers in La. are paying to educate Texas' workforce and it's an absolute money drain on the state. They should adopt New York's version of TOPS and require TOPS graduates to live and work in Louisiana for the number of years that they receive TOPS funds. You use TOPS for 5 years at LSU, you have to live in Louisiana for 5 years or you have to pay that money back.

Also, make people pay back that money if they never graduate. Treat it as a student loan on the front end that's forgiven 100% when you receive a degree. There are way too many people that have no aspirations of every getting a degree that just go to college for the experience and then flunk out after 2 semesters because they had free tuition.

No that's not what I want, I left as well because I'm two educated for that place like you. I just thought the way you put it was funny:

we leave behind much but we still leave

You sound like you're reading an excerpt from a 19th century immigrant's diary.
