When I go back to Louisiana it's always striking to me how negative people are in general. Their attitudes suck.
In Texas people seem to have a more positive can-do attitude in general.

educated and smart and not even close to being interrelated.

I love LA but there is no doubt standard of living is better across the board in Texas by almost every objective measure

No. It's a lost cause.

I've tried for ten years. The simple fact is my counterpart in Houston works half as hard as I do and makes more money. I'd kill it in Houston, seriously considering getting out of this poverty ridden state.

This. And then they blast me for moving and basically doing well for myself. It's all in the attitude and frame of mind.

graduated from SLU in 2012. Left for Texas last year.
Wow, you must have been top of your class to lane a job in Tejas with a degree from SLU.

You could even get a normal hairstyle.
On a serious note, what is stopping you? I know it isn't the schools.

I feel at least half the college graduates in louisiana leave for Texas. How do you expect to get your stuff together when your best and brightest are leaving the state and leaving you with baw baw and Jamal?
Iowa grads go to Chicago.
Same thing.
Houston job scene > Alex or Houma

Did she inherit the business from dad?
no, she saved his business from going under, when her dad died there was a pretty bad recession in LA, all of he family that had anything to do with the business cut and ran, she did everything she could to make payroll to keep key employees through the recession, including cash advances, weekly meetings with the bank to extend/increase loans, she fought and clawed to keep it intact, made it through the recession, as times began to improve she bought everyone that held stock in the company out, her and her husband own the company outright and are reaping the rewards of her perseverance and business know how, they have no kids, hell they are the kids, and enjoy the hell out of their lives

I'm not the one who graduated from SLU

it is done by those who don't wish to settle for the status quo of Louisiana. further, they see no opportunity to change things for the better for themselves much less their families...so we leave, we leave behind much but we still leave

Take it easy drama queen, you're crossing a state line because of a job market, not an ocean because of a potato famine.

Then she deserves every penny of that 50M . Sounds like a great woman.
