You should come to Lafayette.

I see Bama hats and bumper stickers almost daily.

Same reason they are Cowboys, Yankees and Lakers fans. When they're winning, that is

Except for, you know, the black people that identify with one NFL team no matter how shitty they are.

They don't count.

Take it FWIW but I sat next to an old black guy at a South Alabama baseball game who was watching his grandson play (not for USA). He said a ton of black people in and around Bston Rouge/New Orleans don't like LSU because of racism. He said many had followed Saban to Bama and were now Bama fans. Didn't get into specifics

The majority of the these players either came from lower income areas or have strong connections with them through extended family. I'm willing to bet that at least 90% of the black players on LSU's roster has a relative that comes from the "hood".

So they only belong in segregated black schools? WTF is wrong with you, Monty?

This^^^^^ For all our faults, at least most Louisiana people aren't still stuck in the 1950's and early 60's when it comes to racial attitudes like the Alabama folks are. Just a few years ago, they had a big scandal about Alabama sororities still not allowing black students into their membership. And the few Alabama people I've known seem to have the attitude that segregation should still be legal.

No it is absolutely not. I've known about ten Alabama people who were all white over the years, and they all had that attitude of pretending to be joking about it, but one could tell they WEREN'T joking about it. Some even half-joked about wishing slavery was still around.

I can truly vouch for 2 friends of mine thats been Bama fans for life. Which isnt bad.

What I see is many black folks are bama fans, because they are anti-LSU. The same ones who always complain that black players shouldn't go to LSU, but should take their talent to HBCUs.

But the same folks are Bama fans....Which majority of the team is black.

Have something to say about black ppl playing for LSU, but love and have nothing to say about the black ppl on Bamas team.....

No. They need to learn to take pride in their own instead of continually building yours. That way there is no need to change anything about yours. Keep your statues, your building names, etc.

That's like not trusting Russia's government to be honest and transparent, and moving to China instead.
