Gold is superior to cash… if you are going to let it sit. Inflation degrades the dollar while gold slowly gains value.

Now is it the best thing to buy if you have cash to invest? Absolutely not.

Why? According to this crew, it never loses value.

Things that will be valuable after a societal collapse:

Ammunition
Non-perishable food
Drinking water (a source, even better, like a well)
Sex
Drugs
Alcohol

Somebody told me the same thing in 2020…when gold was at an all time high of just over $2000/oz. Heck, generally speaking as the equity market continues to to go up and up it is also continually at an all time high. Maybe just put the cash under the mattress for safe keeping?

Because they take some kind of commission.

And most of the time they don't own the gold they're selling to you. They aren't in the business of owning gold, just being the intermediary, like stock brokers.

Physical gold is a rare commodity

Only 10% or so of gold is used for industry. 45-50% is used for jewelry and cosmetics and the rest is in investment holding. Modern day gold is stable but certainly not immune from being de valued.

I don’t like it when people say gold is a horrible investment.

I think it’s a wise idea for well off people to have a small percentage of the assets in gold or silver.

It does, but usually recovers quickly if there is a downturn in the market for one reason or another.

I could have bought an ounce of gold for under $40 an ounce in 1970 and that same ounce is worth over $3,300 today. Not a bad investment if you managed to keep it all that time.

Gold is on a very steep incline and now is a beautiful time to sell sell sell. It’s not a great investment long-teem and yes, those guys on TV just want your money.

Historically, the S&P 500 has outperformed gold and precious metals. However, during market downturns, gold outperforms stocks.

Consider, real estate, stocks, and precious metals for a diversified portfolio.

If you believe the world is going to crash, bullets and toilet paper may be the best investment.

I can't believe people still want to shite on Gold.

It's a Tier 1 asset with thousands of years worth of history. It's literally one of the most proven things of all time

I just laugh at those commercials. Just put your money on QQQ and walk away. Why do I want coins? Dumb.

If we have societal collapse and your tool breaks down, gold will be valuable to barter with your neighbor.

Anyone who passes of gold as having no good qualities as an investment is foolish.

Why would anyone trade anything with actual utility for gold, in a societal collapse?
