The push to massive ended about a decade ago. You can buy new wristwatches that are downright tiny at this point. If I had to guess, your problem is that what you think of as the entire spectrum of "luxury watches" covers about 10% of available offerings.
To move off of being condescending, do you have any thoughts on which historical watches tickle your fancy? We might be able to help you find something modern that you like.
Also, price range is going to be very important.

For example, that second Nomos is a Lambda, and it costs $20k

For $20K I would much rather buy a Lange Saxonia unless someone is just stuck on the Bauhaus aesthetic and while even the Lange won't hold value like say a Patek it won't drop like a stone like the Nomos will. I love Nomos watches but the Lamda just isn't a very good value.

The NOMOS looks much better IMO. I’d never sell it anyway.

I agree. I love the Lambda in a vacuum, but it's about $10k worth of love, not $20k.

I respect Nomos, but I hate the lugs on about 90% of their watches.

Nomos has the Bauhaus and restrained German/Glashutte region looks down. It is just the Lamda is possibly a step too far in pricing for them.
Overall their long lugs are probably their biggest issue from a comfort/fit point of view. The main Nomos lines, as well as Grand Seiko, are probably the best buys in mid-tier watches exceeding the Swiss on quality for dollar by a long shot.

The lugs are literally the only reason I don't own one. Whenever I've tried one on, it looked like I had a spider on my wrist.

Do I have to preface a statement like that with IN MY OPINION?
I like large faced watches with tiny bezels, I love manual winding movements, I think German engineering and the style that comes from it is the best in the world, and I think that watch is one of the finest products put out. Of course it’s not everyone’s opinion.
I wear this everyday...so you know I have peculiar taste.

Easy, sailor. I meant no offense.
Fineness, as a general rule, is a term of art in watchmaking. While the Lambda might be your favorite watch, by any reasonable objective measure, it is by no means the most fine.

If you left out the uber-complications and polled a large group of WIS the Lange Datograph would probably come out as the finest production watch made especially if you leave out the low production watches like Roger Smith and Phillipe Dufour. Lange's finishing is exquisite, especially the graining and anglage.

I just bought that same band in tan. Big fan of the quick release bands since I like to switch them up so much.
I know most of y’all wear fancy automatics, but does Orient make a good watch? I really want a panda chrono but I don’t wanna buy junk and don’t have the money to buy another auto.

It's tough to draw some of those (arguably) arbitrary lines, but I don't think you'd draw an objection from me.

I wear a POS, of course I’m not talking about movement or BOM fineness, purely aesthetic. Just form and function. My friend’s got a $60k Patek, of course I know there are ‘finer’ watches. I’d take the NOMOS way before that complicated thing.
I’d beat the shite out of that $20k watch unlike most people. Wear it every day and never think twice about the value.

I think it’s better to look good than to feel good, but in no circumstance would I wear that.
