I'm currently wearing a Seiko Sarb035 on a Hirsch light brown leather strap while trying to coach law students into being marginally competent trial attorneys. I'm quite fond of it, but I would never argue that it's anything more than an everyday beater. The idea of wearing a truly fine watch every day makes me squirm

I have more watches, I just simply don’t wear them. I customized some black faced pilots, but the comfort in wearing the same watch everyday does it for me. I’m an EDC guy,
I wear the same jeans everyday that I’ve washed one time in the year I’ve had them. So yea.

I'm by no means a collector, but one watch every day would be tough. At minimum, I would want black dress and earthone dress (because I prefer leather. If you like bracelets, you could get away with one), a dive watch, and a field watch.
But if you never need a dress watch, that could certainly cut down on your number.

As I looked down I realized my rotation for today is a very polarizing aesthetic. Many would not like it.
I also wear all my watches without much regard to value though there are some I avoid water around.
My 5980 (fingerprints and all) and it won't bother me if you think it is horrible.

Yes, ala Gerald Genta. Here is a better stock picture.
The first Nautilus was released in 1976. Genta also designed the AP Royal Oak 4 years earlier. They were the birth of the steel "luxury" watch. Both designed around the idea of a ship portal.

I like that RO a whole lot, and that particular one has been on my radar for a long time (as has the PP Nautilus 5711), but a too good to pass up opportunity for a VC Overseas came my way several years ago and sort of filled that spot in my collection. With regards to that particular watch, it has an excellent bracelet, but I find myself wearing it on the rubber strap more than anything and it is one that spends a lot of time in my rotation.

Which VC OS do you have? I have the last gen white dial 47040. I like the dial better than the new ones, the bracelet may be one of the best ever made. I have never had one of the rubber straps for any of my Trinity sports watches even my Aquanaut is on a bracelet. They do look cool though, I think the new Aquanaut Chrono on the orange rubber is stunning.

Seiko does lots of odd things with their catalog. The 8F56 was one of the best low-cost quartz movements they ever made but discontinued it. It had a perpetual calendar and ran for years at or near HAQ accuracy. I had one in a Mile Marker that ran for 12 years on a single battery and only gained 118 seconds in that time. When they were out you could pick them up in watches that streeted for about $200.
Seiko makes some great watches, I have given every male in my extended family an SNK80X at some point, probably boosting the NATO selling economy by .01%.

I’m having the exact opposite problem as the OP. I’m big bone-ded.
My wrist measurement is 8.5 inches and anything smaller that 42mm looks rediculous.
Finding straps long enough is also a huge problem.
I’ve been searching for a while now for a military field style or fleiger style watch that is larger than 42 and Manually wound for less than $1000. Not having much luck.

Have you looked at the 46mm Hamilton Pilot watches? I know they are automatic but they run about $600.
If you really want a manual wind Archimede has them in your price range, 45mm Ickler case with a ETA 6498.

I have this Rolex along with the Patek Philippe. I like smaller format dress watches.

The Cellini line is underappreciated in the watch world. That looks like a 4133 from the late 90s. Very cool watch, I have always wanted one of those with the salmon dial and stick markers. I have a 50519 Date Cellini and honestly overlook it more often than not when I am picking a dress watch to wear.

That is the one I have...It is an incredible bracelet - love the integrated Maltese crosses the links make. I wear mine on the OEM rubber most of the time. The quality of this particular watch is exceptional. The WG markers and indices are a really nice touch, and the dial is perfectly executed. The wind is like butter and the accuracy is spot on.
