Liquidation sale starts today. 30% off to start.

I'm going to pick up some things for my niece and nephews, some board games and maybe snag a few other things just because I want to be a Toys R Us kid one more time.

K Mart in Mandeville is closing its doors too. I didn't see any really special prices there though. I went to go look for a new microwave and Home Depot still had cheaper and better brands.

Just saw a picture of the one in Metry. Line is well outside the front door. I'll pass.

Also... people are stupid. The first thing that happens at liquidation sales is that all prices are marked up to AT LEAST MSRP, if not higher. Then the 30% comes off. There is very little money to be saved today, compared to sale prices other store prices online prices etc.

Toys R Us is betting on the idiocy of the sheeple, which is always a solid bet.

Enjoy paying 5% more right now. Wait about 3-4 weeks and they will start dropping prices on items not moving. They have unmarked everything by about 30-35% so that 20-25% off is just a scam.

I couldn't imagine at this point in our society actually walking in a store to buy children's toys.

I went there yesterday because I was nearby at Sam's. Nothing on sale. I spoke to one of the associates and she said it started today but was only going to be 10% off to start. No thanks.

So, my choices are:

1. Get up from my chair, drive to a store that may or may not have what I want to pay a higher price.

OR

2. Continue to sit in my chair, go online, order whatever I want at a lower price and someone drops it off to me in 2 days.

I read they were going to handle it themselves for the first 45 days or so.

They have yet to actually sell the assets to a liquidator.

What is wrong with people? Getting in line to buy things they don’t need or want but only because it’s slightly cheaper than usual. It’s mfing children’s toys that no one wanted to begin with.

These are the same people who camp outside Walmart on Black Friday to save $25 on a LED TV
