I’ll see your Malenko as Ciclope, and raise you a DDP as La Parka, against the Macho Man

I knew that wasn't La Parka because he wasn't fat.

There were gobs of great masked wrestlers working in Mid-South Wrestling in its heyday. Mr. Wrestling II, The Assassin, The Grappler, The Super Destroyer, Mr. Olympia... My family often attended matches at the Riverside Centroplex in Baton Rouge. It was cool as hell to see all these guys arrive at the arena driving their cars with the freakin' masks on to hide their identities. I can't help but wonder at what point between their homes/hotels and the arena did they slip the mask on in the car...
Some inquisitive fans once questioned "Cowboy" Bill Watts how he paid masked wrestlers if he didn't know their real names. Watts responded with this gem: "We send a masked wrestler's paycheck to a P.O. Box he provides. From that point, it's the wrestler's responsibility to redeem it. If a guy can cash a check made-out to "The Grappler," then he doesn't have any problems." The visual of something like this happening in a bank is hilarious.
Gotta love Mid-South Rasslin'.

His masked identity was so good we never found out who he really was.
And we can’t forget this guy
