over next decade as LNG exemptions expire

quote:

Cameron Parish is projected to collect more than $4 billion in property taxes over the next 10 years as industrial tax exemptions for six liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities begin to expire.

The state of Louisiana’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program (ITEP) provides an 80% property tax abatement for new manufacturers for up to 10 years. Those exemptions are set to begin expiring this year for LNG companies operating in Cameron Parish.

Someone post they "Why Louisiana Stays Poor" slop video while Cameron Parish responds:

quote:

“Cameron Parish will use these funds to help revitalize our parish and invest in our future,” Fewell said. “These resources can strengthen critical infrastructure, support coastal restoration efforts, and improve our resilience against hurricanes and other natural disasters.”

They should borrow against those funds now before the circumventing happens.

It will go to some bullshite projects with someone's brother in law getting the contract because they submitted the lowest bid.. In fact it was a really low bid to make sure they get the contract because once the project starts and something was "miscalculated" they will get more funds approved so that the project doesn't go unfinished.

They would need to use that $4 billion to insure houses so people could afford to live there

Isn’t ITEP a local ballot measure? No way the parish votes to extend. And no way the LNG companies will remove the export terminals. Good on Cameron Parish.

six liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities begin to expire.

Sempra Global (Cameron lng) & Chenier Energy are the only two in Cameron parish. Reporter needs to get her shite straight.
VG doesn’t count yet.
