There are more tigers in captivity in Texas than alive in the world.

Wouldn’t be shocked if it’s someone who lives near by you who owns it.

My late father-in-law had a peacock that would show up at his place in Mansura several times a week. There was a small wildlife rescue place near his house that had deer and a few peacocks behind a tall chain link fence.

Obviously one of the peacocks got out and roamed the wooded area around it. It was pretty cool to wake up in the morning, have a cup of hot coffee on the screened in back porch and see that big bird strutting across his property.

Never could get near it, and I tried a few times.

I just want to add to the thread that I buy that kitty litter in the bucket for my daughter's cat so I can have more buckets than I need in my shop.

I've stayed in cottages at Butler Greenwood Plantation a number of times. There was always a pet peacock on the grounds. One morning, we were out on the covered back porch which had a tin roof. Unbeknownst to us, the peacock was up in a tree next to the porch. It suddenly jumped onto the roof and scared the ever loving dickens out of us.

The peacock is probably someone's pet who wandered off. Hope you can find the owner.

a random arse peacock showed up at our shop today. just waltzed right in through the back door and is just chilling in the warehouse.

That’s pretty cool. I wouldn’t mind having it around unless it crapped on everything.

Peacocks will absolutely annihilate insects, ticks, and termites. They will hunt mice too.

The problem is they are fricking noisy and you can here them a long way off. But out in the country they are great for pest control.

It's a blessing and sign of good fortune for the new year. Please treat it humanely

There's one that hangs out along 190 near Livonia. Weirdest damn thing the first time I saw it. Thought I was having a flashback.

There was a lady I got to know from Mansura (Miss Isma) that owned a Bed & Breakfast right on the main drag through the town. It was near the Post Office and I stayed there for a couple nights the first time I ventured that way with the lady that is now my wife.

The B & B was located next to some type livestock area that had hogs, chickens and some noisy assed peacocks that would start their calling at daybreak. There was no sleeping in at that B & B unless drugs were involved. Those damn birds are ungodly loud.

It was like that scene from "My Cousin Vinny" when they were staying in a hotel next to a livestock yard and got woken up at "0 dark thirty".

In the 80's where I grew up in GA there was a nearby family that collected exotics. They eventually got in trouble with the law and relocated swiftly. The peacocks maintained a local pack living in the woods for at least a decade. Their screeches are pretty scary at night on acid camping out down by the creek behind the house.
