I figure it has to be a General Honore type who decides to run for mayor. A black man with a backbone to stand up for what is right.

Its not a mayor problem. It is a demographic voting problem.

Not happening. Just like we won’t elect a governor worth a damn. Just like half the places in this shithole state will not elect anyone good

Nagin was actually great before Katrina. Business minded mayor (former cox cable executive). He just lost his damn mind during and after Katrina. The bribes he got busted for are part and parcel with the office, unfortunately. He just wasn’t savy enough to cover his tracks.

I agree 100%

I can see Ronnie Lamarque running

Or Frank Stewart or Sidney Torres but I don’t either of them live in Orleans Parish

This. No party should have complete control for so long. 2 or 3 terms of a republican would help

So by this logic, would you be okay with louisiana's electoral college votes going to Biden? Because the republican party has gotten those for a while now. Or do you just mean that the dems shouldn't have control for that long?

One of the main problems is the black political machines(Example-ACORN) that payoff the preachers to get its members to the polls to back whichever Democratic candidate gives them the most money. These machines would have to be broken up or destroyed from within.

Another major issue with New Orleans is you have so many white liberals who refuse to even think about voting for anyone other than a Democrat that it makes it impossible to get any fiscally or socially conservative candidate to actually have a chance.
