Eisenhower Warned against the military industrial complex and the growing deep state.
He transitioned the country after WWII in away that had a huge impact on the economy (which is rare for a president to be able to do. As I mentioned in an above post, presidents normally don't have that big of an impact on the economy as people think).
Although it was originally for military purposes, he is responsible for the interstate which cut travel time, allowed people to travel further, etc. And yet he is always overlooked.

Picking Trump as GOAT is no more ridiculous than saying Clinton or Obama....

Plus he put all those Nazi scientists to good use. Thanks Werner Von Braun!

To all those saying Clinton, an honest question: Why do you say that? Not trying to start anything, but every time I've asked a Bill Clinton fan what was so great about him I've yet to hear that knock it out of the park answer.
Of course many have said "the Economy", but I can't get them to answer what it was that he did for the Economy that made it so great.
Bill Clinton was a terrible president. Blatantly selling influence to the Chinese does not a great president make.
His arse - and reputation - was saved by the GOP takeover of the legislature and subsequent Contract With America. Slick did a great job of riding the tiger and taking credit for the economic boom.
It was his administration that set the stage for the later savings and loans debacle with his lending policies (along with the dipshit Cuomo he appointed).

Lincoln is the worst President on the list. Take a step back from your opinions on the Civil War and look at this objectively.
The Good:
1. Freed slaves AFTER the war.
The Bad:
1. He escalated the Civil War. He marched on the south instead of using less violent measures. The impact to the economy, life, and posterity were severe.
2. He invented the unconstitutional "executive order."
3. He pretty much suspended the US Constitution and suspended Habeas Corpus.
4. He arrested journalists that disagreed with him.
I'm not sure which is worse in this thread, saying Trump is the greatest POTUS of all-time or your incredibly uninformed and malicious take on Lincoln.

In reality, presidents do not have as much influence on the economy as people think.
IQ45 would like a word.
Tariffs
Government shutdowns
trade wars
spitting in the faces of Western allies
threatening to fire the fed chair
pushing for tax cuts that are ballooning the debt
You're correct in saying presidents USUALLY don't have a direct impact on the economy, but the game show host currently in office is anything but "usual".

Anyone who says Wilson or FDR does not have a lot of factual historical knowledge. They were both horrible and largely responsible for a lot of the economic and budgetary problems that we face today.

Thomas Jefferson, he was an integral part of the Louisiana Purchase and helped draft the Declaration of Independence.

I'm MAGA, but I don't seen how Trump could even be considered for this conversation. His biggest accomplishment is keeping Clinton out of the White House.

I'm not a fan of his, but this is a HUGE accomplishment.

yeah it's very difficult to say a president did more to shape the future of the US than Jefferson.
1. established West Point
2. Doubled the size of the US
3. Abolished int'l slave trade
4. Donated his personal library to Library of Congress
5. Turned the US Navy into a global force that defeated piracy in the Med
6. Jefferson at first opposed a National Bank but eventually allowed it. He then cut the nat'l debt by 33% within his first term.

I don't know who the best President is but I strongly believe LBJ was the worst. His policies are going to be the ultimate undoing of this country if nobody does anything to reverse them.

are the people saying Trump trolling or do they honestly believe that?
