Who here was whipped as a child but doesn't whip their own children now?

I was whipped maybe once or twice. My parents weren’t big on it. They had this way of making you feel guilty as frick when you fricked up.

I was spanked by my mom, not whipped, and I will not do that to my son. It didn't work, it just made me more defiant and didn't scare me at all.

And I always thought of my mom as the "mean one" and wouldn't take her yelling at me seriously because she did it too much. If my dad would raise his voice at all, I would tremble, but my dad never hit me at all. He picked his battles way better as well.

Every situation is different and I don't judge others for how they raise their kids. I just won't hit my kid unless he's older and physically hurts someone else in the family.

I only got spanked like 3 times maybe and it was never a true “beating”. I haven’t laid a hand on my kids but they also are VERY well behaved....so far.

I got my arse beat with a belt, wouldn’t ever do that to my kids...

However, I have done the occasional open palm spank to the buttocks when needed...

I was beaten as a child and I have not, nor will I ever hit my child.
