Do y’all think there will be a similar celebration for America’s 250th birthday in two years from now ? I mean, assuming we still have a functioning country ? And also, is there a cool word like ‘bicentennial’ or ‘sesquicentennial’ but for 250 yrs ??

Half dollar and dollar too.

From the summer of 75 until summer of 76 the US appeared like you were looking at monitor that only displayed red, white and blue.

And it was awesome.

They literally couldn't get away with that today. They'd have to gay it up for one and then the Free Palestine people would get pissy and they'd have to satisfy them... and then "well, yeah but don't forget about the REAL independence day... Juneteenth"

"Okay, let's just scrap the whole celebration then."

Our great republic was completely different from today's troubles. It's a big mess today, as we were far better off with lots of patriotism back then. I remember riding around in my car that day thinking a thousand years ago our forefathers wrote this document. You know someone who is 20'something thinks people who are 40 are ancient.

I do. My parents got the Bicentennial Sprit of America Chevrolet Impala. It was, interestingly enough, released in late 1974.
And they had special quarters.

Also there was a Bicentennial Chevy Truck.

The bicentennial pinball machine at Papa Pizza on Harrison Avenue brought many hours of fun while skipping school.

People say that, but it’s just not true.. you had inflation, lines around the block for gasoline (i may be off by a couple of years but you get the point), kids were dying of childhood cancers, Ted Bundy was on a killing rampage around the country and on and on and on.. people make it sound like the world was some utopia “way back when” and it wasn’t even close .

I will say that there wasn’t the 24 hour news cycle back then so you didn’t HEAR as much about how crappy things were .

That's what I call a land yacht.

Big arse bench seats. We could ride 8 somewhat comfortably. Of course, everyone wasn't obese back then either.
