but I was just back and forth all day.
Same here but I lived at my parents house 9 miles from LSU. It was brutal going to first class at 730 am and last class was a once a week one at 6-9pm. But I found places to nap in the library, Student Union, etc.

Remember it? I’m still on hold. Adventures in Guatemalan Basket Weaving is in high demand.

Walked around the field house pulling cards and giving my SSN to anyone and everyone. I think my SSN was printed on my schedule.

ME but who remembers pulling damn cards from every department that you need a class in??? THAT sucked.
Stacks of blue cards for each section, from long tables on the floor of the Assembly Center. Such good times.

I waited on the "assembly center" floor for HOURS waiting for a speech 2060 card ... HOURS. Damnit I got it too!!
I had more cards for classes than I'd EVERY be able to take .. you just grabbed what you "might" need and then said prayers that you ended up with what you DID need.

My SSN was on my student ID. They would post grades outside of the classroom with people's socials on them. Different time.

Paws sucked but I would use my older step sisters LSU account to register all my classes,
I entered grad school at LSU as they were transitioning to PAWS - I used to hold classes for my brother and his friends. Lol
They said it was easier than Reggie - which I never used

I remember standing in line for cards.
These were like Gold!

I learned early on that the professors almost always kept a couple to give out. So, if you really needed a class that was filled up you could always go beg the professor. If you had him/her before and you did well and/or they remembered you, that was one of the best ways to get a popular class.

accidentally hanging up because you were so used to hearing the busy signal was so depressing and enraging.
I don't think seeing a buck, having a car wreck, sex, running for your life has anything on the feeling of actually getting on the line and entering the codes for your classes.
And then REGGIE would tell you that section was full please try another and you were just freaking out trying to read your notes about which sections you wanted and how that related to other classes you wanted or already had scheduled.
Felt like you were defusing a bomb with tigers and bears running towards you over a pool full of sharks.
frick now I'm stressed out.

I remember using some "business" line in my Dad's office and I ALWAYS got through sooner on that line. No idea what exactly was happening though. But once I figured it out, you can bet I went that route each semester!
The crap was just insane though, to reiterate what everyone else has said in here!

Reggie was the shite compared to pulling cards
Posted on 2/8/21 at 4:40 pm to boxcarbarney
Me but I wrote a modem script to loop every 5 seconds and when Reggie would finally answer it would make a sound and I would pick up. Word got out and we had Reggie parties at my house with my engineering friends.

It was my SSN plus a dash 2 at the end.
I never found out what the dash 2 was.

Drunk scheduling at 3am because it’s the only time you could get in was interesting.

i recall walk-thru registration at the pmac. you had to pull a card for every class you wanted. if you ended up with a conflict, you had to go back and swap cards until you got a workable schedule.
it never rains in tiger stadium, but it never missed on registration. my wife worked in records, so i never had to buy an umbrella until reggie came along.

I remember waiting in line at the bank of Phones in the Union that were straight to Reggie. It was much quicker than trying to dial in all night from home.
Yeah, if you were on campus, at one of the dorms, you got in quicker
