I'm talking having a house or condo on the beach in a touristy beach community. I don't think I could. The influx of people coming to town in the spring and staying til after labor day would drive me crazy. If I did it would have to be a very secluded section of the beach that I didn't have be around a bunch of people all the damn time.

No. I live about 2 miles from the beach here in Huntington Beach and that's close enough.

It is an absolute madhouse during the summer in downtown HB. Especially during the surfing events. I had a friend that use to live a block from the beach downtown and she had people trash her yard, people parking in her driveway, traffic was an absolute nightmare. Even now in the summer, when I drive down Warner Blvd there is a ton of traffic. I yell at people to get out of my town during the summer. Winter is much better here.

You have a problem with having a never ending supply of new women to sex every single week from spring til summer is over

I lived in Hilton Head SC for a year. The beach was across the street. I hated it. I think I went to the beach twice the whole time I was there. I couldnt get out fast enough.

Was in San Clemente, CA all last week and could get used to something like that full time.

My favorite beach town.

Destin on the other hand would be hell.

I was honestly expecting your comment in this thread to be about how great the beaches in Scottsdale are.

It's not that bad except for the holiday weekends. Parents had a condo in Destin when I was in college. Our classes were M-Th in the summer so every Thursday afternoon we rode down and came back Monday morning. We skipped holiday weekends and it was awesome.

West Coast beaches > Gulf.

I was born and raised in So Cal, and I loved our beaches there. You have some fantastic scenery, and the snorkeling and diving is pretty amazing. So is the surfing.

That said, I love living on the Gulf Coast. I'm 10 minutes from a beautiful white sand beach where there's no crowd, I can relax and chill and enjoy the emerald green waters and calm (very kayak friendly) surf.

It's very subjective, to be honest.

If i lived in a secluded section of beach I could totally do it. Be a good retirement plan if you could turn it in to something tourist related. Snowball guy in Perdido Key is retired military and says he works when he feels like it and always has a line and makes enough bank to suppo himself.
