I’ve been writing in cursive since 3rd grade which was 40 years ago. I’m not about to change now.

There are a few hundred years worth of writings that are written in a cursive form.

Ole Miss will be hit particularly hard:

I can read/write it if necessary but cursive is stupid as frick. My grandmother was the only one who I’ve known to write neat cursive the way it supposed to be done. Everyone writes to quickly and it’s fricking chickenscratch. At least when you print and I can make people’s terrible handwriting. I sign my name probably 50 times a day and my signature is basically some squiggly lines. I wish/am glad we’re getting ride of it.

How do they have an actual signature they can use on things like contracts, personal checks, or the myriad of other official documents you have to sign in both professional and personal life?

You realize you can write an X or draw a dick and claim it as your signature, right?

Learn the first letter of their name in cursive and then a scribble after it. Done.

Just like you're not about to start posting on an internet message board because you weren't doing that 40 years ago...

Cursive is obsolete. There is no point in teaching it any more. I can read it because I'm old enough for it to still have been taught to me in schools, but it is something that is being phased out. Next thing you old farts are going to complain about is how young people can't function without knowing how to shoe a horse or change an ink ribbon in a typewriter and other "necessary" skills that aren't actually necessary anymore.

She’s kinda got this whole Christina Ricci look about her. Not as prominent of a forehead though.

How many papers did you write in cursive while in college?

How much correspondence do you do in your job in cursive?

It's a snoddy catholic school thing to teach that serves absolutely no purpose (12yrs. of catholic school here).

Start teaching proper business writing, MLA format, etc. in grade school.

I know there are several people here that have received a communication via email at work, and subsequently changed your opinion of the sender after trying to sift through their poor grammar and misspellings.
