They quit teaching Latin and how to use a slide rule too.
I initially had a negative reaction when I heard schools were dropping cursive, but I realized time marches on.
Kids today should not have to study the same subjects as Abe Lincoln.

I can read cursive, but I can't read shitty handwriting.

I can't write in cursive, but I can read in cursive. Get mad at me if you will. Blame the school system's curriculum I grew up in. I was required to learn in 2-3rd grade. After that, never wrote in cursive again in my life. I can do my signature and that's it.

Our society is quickly going down the tubes.

Many schools, mostly private still teach Latin, it is also growing in popularity among the home schooled for its ability to improve the students abilities in many other areas of language, and learning terms used in science and medicine.

I just had the new mail girl stop by my office to ask who I was sending an inner-office envelope to because she had no idea how to read the name I had clearly written on it. How can an adult function without being able to write or even read cursive?!?
I don’t know, Darth. How can an adult function without knowing that the proper term is inter office (or maybe even likelier—intra office); certainly not “inner office”.
Be sure to have your ducks in a row before blasting a kid over minutiae.

:lmao:
Holy shite you’re pathetic. First for being a grammar Nazi. And second for your “intra” office horseshite. I’ve been in the business world for 20 years, I mean dealing with upper management levels with some of the biggest corporations in the world. Never have I seen someone dorky enough to call it “intra” office mail. Get over yourself, dipshit.

I can’t not write in cursive, even on forms when it says print name, most of my letters are still connected in broken cursive

I cannot write in cursive at all.
I find reading cursive annoying but I am capable.

If you’re going to be so pedantic as to complain when someone can’t read your cursive you should be able to take it when your own errors are corrected. One is not being able to read a particular style of writing. The other is not knowing basic phrases taught in junior high. Who is to say which is more embarrassing? Fortunately I am competent in both.

I had an Literature teacher about two years ago that wrote in cursive on the board. I asked her to write normally, because no one could read what she was writing. She kept writing in cursive, but ended up giving us notes written in English

In the near future, senior citizens will be able to write encrypted messages to each other the new generations will be unable to read.

I know the phrase you stupid frick. But as I’ve already said, nobody, and I do mean nobody calls it anything other than inner office mail. That is unless you’re this guy in your office.
