Fighting after adolescence is beyond trashy unless you're protecting your family.

I've been in a few ... but I was raised to be violent and was so in HS and college.
I took it to another level when I got to Bragg.
I'm paying the price for it now, especially the hands and feet, but the crushed orbital socket, the elbows and knees ... and the many street surgeries. Not to mention the concussions which are now causing tremors.
I would get my intensity under control, when I was younger ... if I had it to do over again.

Mid 80s. Tigerland neutral ground between Sports and Cillys. Bunch of west bankers vs foreigners with numb chucks. Not a good night for the away team. Multiple ambulances. They were mauled. Multiple bottles to head.

In the 70's we were still fighting regularly in Farmerville. I remember fighting a guy one night, and his brother insisted I fight him the next night, so I beat him up too. Both of them were at Herbert Green's Gulf station.
I didn't always win. I lost as many as I won. Felt like sh*t the next day regardless. I quit when I turned 18 because fighting in public was an arrest-able offense, and you could get sued for injuring someone.. My dad always told me not to call him if I get put in jail.
I made some pretty good friends after getting in fights with a few guys. Stupidest fight was the "Meet me at the Farmerville football stadium" one, because of the parking lot being gravel.. I was wearing shorts.
Folly Beach was a money maker for the parish. Back then, they'd take everyone to jail, but let the locals out with no fine or ticket.

When I was about 12, this new kid moved into the neighborhood and he had a single mom and looking back I’m sure the kid had a bad home life and went through some shite.
One day we were playing and I can’t remember why, but he got really mad at me. The kid goes home and comes back dragging a sledgehammer with him singing my name, telling me “come out come out…”
I’m thinking this kid is nuts, but the older kids were agging it on. I have always had really quick reactions and have always been a good athlete, so I knew I could get to him before he could pick up the hammer and swing it.
At that age I knew about death and what this hammer could do if it hit me cause that’s how we killed chickens. I couldn’t believe this little piece of shite had the nerve to try to take my life, so as soon as he stepped his little arse in the street I made a run for it. He tried to pick up the sledge but was too slow. I put a shoulder in his chest at full speed and knocked the wind out of him. I saw red that day, it was him or me, and I started beating the ever loving shite out of this little punks face, raining blows to his face on the concrete.
He was knocked out cold, but I was in fight mode and so the older kids had to drag me off of him. At some point, somebody’s parents came out and saw what happened. They took the kid to the hospital and all the parents in the neighborhood knew what happened.
The kids mom wanted to press charges, but my dad was a cop at that time and I was acting in self defense, so there was nothing she could do. My dad always told me never start a fight, but you better finish it. And that’s what I did.
They were ostracized and nobody’s parents would let them play with that crazy bastard. They moved a few weeks later. Never saw that little piece of shite again.

Damn.
Last bad one I was in a knife was drawn by a pos who started it. Cut me on the kneck from behind as I was leaving an apartment. I kneed him in the face and broke his nose. Was in the middle of throwing him off the balcony at this apartment building cause he tried to fricking kill me, but my buddies noticed and pulled me back. He was out cold.
I should have pressed charges and had him thrown in jail for attempted murder, not sure why I didn’t. That was almost 20 years ago.
A friend said he saw him a while back. I wouldn’t even recognize him if I did. Still pisses me off when I think about it, but I just hope he has reflected on that and become a good person. I’ll let God sort that one out.

1980 North Island Naval Air Station CA. 3 carriers docked one in front of the other at the same time which almost never happens because one is always in the South Pacific. CV 61 Ranger (aka Pig Boat), CV-63 Kitty Hawk (aka Shitty Kitty) & CV-64 Constellation (aka Cuntellation). Friday afternoon at the Enlisted Man Bar located just off the dock area. At 1PM the place was packed with crews from the 3 carriers. All tables full. All of a sudden I see a wooden chair being lifted up in the air and come crashing down on someone's head. it was game on then like someone threw a match in a pail of gasoline. Fights broke out everywhere. I got punched 2 or 3 times and I couldn't tell who was hitting me. Has to have been at least 100 dudes fighting. Someone yelled Shore Patrol and everyone hauled arse. Club was torn apart and shut down for several months. Fighting was even going on in the bathroom because plumbing fixtures were also torn up. Rumor was there was bad blood between the Shitty Kitty and Cuntellation crews and that is who started the fight. I wound up with a busted lip. True story. Like one of those Western saloon fights. Utter Mayhem.

I grew up in the 80’s. Hell yeah I’ve been in some serious fist fights. We weren’t a bunch of soft soy boys back then. You had a beef with someone usually settled it in a parking lot around the corner from school with half the school there watching. No one back then pulled knives or guns and you sure didn’t go running to the popo afterwards to press charges. Won some, lost some. Also used to play tons of pick up basketball games and wasn’t uncommon to get into a tussle on the court either. Again won some and lost some but we lived to fight another day.

My last fight (since 4th grade) was at the age of 34 in a dive bar in Houston. The GF of an East Texas redneck drywall crew foreman didn't like that she was dancing to close to me (body to body) so when I returned was pulled back in my chair by two of his dudes and one went to punching my in the face while they held me down. 17 punches later I was able to free myself and they all ran away. I went to the bar and ordered another drink and the police arrived asking about a fight. I told them I didn't see it.
Later on the way home and stopping at another dive bar, someone hit me on the back of the head with a 2x4 and knocked me out, stealing a few hundred dollars out of my pocket.

It has been about twenty years ago that Barbe High School hosted its inaugural football for their new football stadium. Multiple fist fights broke out in the stands, at the travel bus parking area, and playing field. A few band instruments were used as weapons.

Won a few and lost a few.
Worst one I woke up with footprints on my shirt. Ribs hurt when I laughed. Yeah I was sore for a few days.

Last time, about 13 years ago, I was at a bar at closing time waiting on my ride. The drunk arse crazy ptsd ridden bar owner attacked me, for whatever reason, and I put him on the ground, not really wanting to fight.
He went in and came out and I was staring down the barrel of a 1911. I said "nope" threw my hands up and backed away and called one of my brothers friends to pick me up.
Haven't fought since. Not worth losing my life. Not that I wanted to then either

My younger brother had issue with legs and had to wear a brace. He was 5 & I was 10. Older jerk down the road always picked on him until I had enough. Waded in to him like Clubber Lang. Gave him a bwoody nose.
His dad showed up at our door later and told my dad, “you need to get control of your son” to which dad replied, “you need to get yours some boxing lessons!”
The end

A weapon involved I agree, but getting your arse kicked your losing your freedom

A bunch when I was a teenager, won some lost some. Only one as an adult, I didn't have a mark on me, he had a broken orbital socket and a dislocated jaw. Despite his injuries I gave him credit for being tough as nails. He never got a punch off, just tried to wrap me up, I landed 13-14 punches in a flurry - but he didn't go down.
What I learned from it was that as teenagers you may give someone, or get, a black eye or a bloody lip, but adults can really hurt each other. I'm 52 now, and that was 15 years ago...haven't been in a fight since and don't want to be in another.
