Dear tata motors, bring back the boxy rovers please. Thanks.

Used to be true, but BMW, Ford, and Tata fixed the production problems and turned Land Rover into a professional automaker. To give you an example of what Land Rover looked like in the mid nineties, they were still painting vehicles by hand. Everything changed with BMW, and the L322 and the Discovery 3 are the first examples of that. Modern, and reliable, but not exactly soulful.

The Defender is coming out soon. Only the owners have seen the real concept. It will be boxy

There's no way it will look like a proper Defender.

There are a lot of angry poor people in here that haven't researched Rovers in a few years. Since moving away from FORD ownership, they've become one of the best vehicles on the road. Unparalleled in off road capability from stock.

I will never buy another Land Rover. I had a Discovery HSE back in the day and it was the biggest piece of engineered shite ever made. Their customer service was even worse. Engine was basically shot after 40k miles and all service performed by the dealership on schedule. They told me that I needed a new engine at 42,500 at a cost of 13k and some change.

The Disco was one of the most problematic vehicles ever made... they're under completely different ownership now.

I've yet to see any reliable info on the new defender, other than it will be based on existing unibody architecture. The frame will be gone, and I'm guessing so will live axles. To me it sounds like the replacement will be akin to the FJ Cruiser - a vehicle that's trendy for a few years then fades away because it no real inherent strengths.

Who's ready for it to be maintenanced within the first 5k miles and I'm not talking about an oil change.

Or 15k miles but let's not let facts get in the way of a good rover bashing thread.

Lotta dumbasses in this thread. Range rovers aren't tge shitboxes they were a few years ago. The new ones are light years ahead.

Rovers will always be dumpster fires in my eyes. Beautiful dumpster fires. I don't care who owns them. The name has lost all sense of good will. Also, you vouch for them like you sell them for a living.
