I will never buy another Land Rover. I had a Discovery HSE back in the day and it was the biggest piece of engineered shite ever made. Their customer service was even worse. Engine was basically shot after 40k miles and all service performed by the dealership on schedule. They told me that I needed a new engine at 42,500 at a cost of 13k and some change.

The block castings were terrible by the end. The machinery and dies were old and no longer precise. The 4.6 tuning with higher temps, compression, and lean running for low emissions compounded it all. The 3.5 and 3.9 never had the same problems, even if they were never great engines when GM designed them.

How do u keep those POS on the road. Seriously, I bought my teenage son an Audi which is as dependable as the Saints defense and was talking to mechanic who said they kinda suck but he has no clue how they keep all the range rovers in my area on the road as they are biggest POS mechanically every made. I have heard this from at least dozen mechanics. Do u just get extended warranty as sell when it runs out?

Maybe. Maybe I own a store. Either way, I don't care what you do, but this is like saying "I won't own an iPhone because I had a shitty macintosh computer back in the 90's"

fricking crossovers

Somebody should do prison time for what they did to the Jeep Cherokee. If you trade in an old Cherokee part of the trade in should be your balls.

The weird thing about the old basic Rovers is how there was always this dichotomy: the truck would always have some issue, but would rarely fail you. The biggest issue I saw with most folks is they didn't keep up with maintenance. Skipping oil changes and overheating an aluminum block motor leads to disaster. Parts are high, and a lot people delayed work once out of warranty.

During the 90's, the company went through two ownership changes, with major upheaval in parts suppliers. Quality in late 90's overall , and the 4.6 version in the early 2000's were awful.

I've always treated mine like a boat - replace and fix as needed, and drive forever. Over 200k and 20 plus years later it will get repainted and the engine rebuilt. Hope to keep it forever.

I've always wanted a Land Rover. I think they look better than the Range Rover.

There's no way it will look like a proper Defender.

Based on every concept we've seen in the past 5 years I agree.

I hope Rover range is right though. They would make a killing if they go boxy.

Lexus GX or LX.

I'm also a big fan of the LR4 . This year is the last year for it.

I hate that the LX doesn't have captains chairs in second row

At least the Infiniti I can remove the center console
