I don’t have tattoos but making blanket statements like this just shows how retarded you are. And who really gives a frick? If you don’t like them don't get them.

Its such a trashy look, and nowadays all it does is scream "Look at me I just HAVE to be trend" especially with women. Its a low self esteem thing.

I think there’s a difference between intentionally visible vs hidden tattoos. I won’t comment on someone getting a small hidden tattoo that is actually intended for themselves.
Getting large visible tattoos seems to fall in line with a general cultural shift into a kind of aimless narcissism, possibly derived from social media and celebrity culture. The idea that a lot of people feel that they need to project curated content about themselves out to an audience at all times, even if the messaging vehicle causes personal or professional harm. There are a lot of subcultural factors at play that explain pockets of heavy tattooing, but the broader cross-demographic use over the last 10-15 years is clearly a symptom of some larger cultural change.

It’s a “look at me thing” and that’s the most important thing in the social media era.

Seems like almost any woman under 40 has tats.

Great point.
Tattoos outwardly give others a sign that someone makes poor decisions.
Here’s an example.
My wife (no pics) works in the medical field, and has a team 6 girls that work for her. She prefers to hire nurses aged 24-28, but being a nurse is not required. She’s looking for smart, kind, compassionate workers. The other requirement is no visible tattoos. Starting pay is $140K. For someone that was making $60K or less, that’s a big jump. And using this criteria has allowed her to have the most successful team in the country for the company she works for.
They are all told how and why they got the job. They often have friends that have tattoos that ask if they can interview. You know what the answer is.
The parents of her team members have thanked my wife for changing their daughter’s lives.

This is one of the dumbest statements I have ever seen posted on this board. And that's a high bar to clear.

The OTs obsession with how others spend their money baffles me, especially when people spend money on things like tattoos have no effect on said OTers life.
I don’t have any tattoos either but don’t care about if prople have them or not. I feel that in certain settings they’re unprofessional, but that only hurts the person who has the tattoo and if the tattoo is exposed in normal work attire.
It almost feels like some of the OT is jealous they were never brave enough to get a tattoo or do anything else outside the box and now regret it because they’re old. A lot of these folks sound like guys my dad’s age (in their 70s) who never had an open mind for anything.
If you want to spend $110k on an SUV and get tatted up, go for it. You didn’t spend any of my money on those things.

Yes, because seeing one is like seeing a chupacabra. No one is looking. No one cares.

Not a fad you fig.
Tattooing has been around for thousands of years. Some tattoo's fit a certain person. Now, your typical Florida spring break barbed wire tattoo's or tramp stamps are stupid.

Going to be a bunch of grandmas filled with regret in the next few decades having to explain solid green arms and body parts to grand kids.

Like facial hair or a shaved head on men, tattoos require a certain fit for the individual. Some people can pull them off. Most can’t. Unfortunately most people think they can. And they look horrible as a result.
And I’d say 98% of women with tats just look terrible with them.
